Remember? No. They weren't showing hockey highlights in NC back in the 70's. Not that much in the early 80's either. Quote:
So.......3rd quarter. Opening drive. Now you are down 20-3 thanks to your pick & a fumble. You need to answer quickly so you can make a game out of it. Leave yourself enough time to make a comeback. You make it inside the opponent's 10, but now have 4th & 1. Coach is going for it. You gotta have it. Do or die. There is no 2nd chance here. You don't just toss it out of the end zone because no one is clearly open.

True. But I agree the Lions are in for a down turn, IMO. You can't lose both coordinators & keep it running smooth.

Week 1 observations or......way too early conclusions
90% of broadcasters & commentators I don't care about. About 9% I absolutely loathe. A minute amount of them I actually think make the game better. Chris Collinsworth I've never liked. But not to the degree that a lot on social media do. But last night I think I put him in the loathe category. I saw Allen throw a 2 yd dumb to Cook, who took it 52 yds to the Ravens 1 yd line & Collinsworth told me that was all Josh Allen. In the same game, saw Jackson run untouched & Collinsworth said it was because Henry is in the backfield. Like c'mon, man............
.....A lot on social media about why Jackson can't win these games & Josh Allen is his daddy. Allen is not Lamar's daddy. Lamar did everything he could to earn that victory. He accounted for 3 scores, ran for 70 yds & completed 74% of his passes. He is not responsible for a veteran like Henry fumbling the ball when the Ravens are trying to maintain possession late. He is not responsible for his kicker missing the last XP. And one thing I've found very few mentioning, he is not responsible for that FG the Ravens gave up @ the end of the half. Buffalo had zero timeouts, at the Baltimore 47, and the Ravens rushed ZERO. That's right, you read correctly. Baltimore sent no one at Josh Allen. There were 11 players defending 5 Bills receivers. And you knew Buffalo had to either heave it to the end zone or get a quick hit OOB. And Baltimore allowed Allen to complete on at the sideline w/one tick remaining. None of those above things can happen. That isn't Lamar not being able to beat Josh Allen. That's the Ravens screwing up......... ......Miami looks bad.......I mean real, real bad. The Colts scored on all 7 of their possessions. Let that sink in...........a Daniel Jones offense never had to punt, never lost the ball on downs, never turned it over, never missed a kick, never even got into victory formation. They scored every time they got the ball. Miami looks baaadddd.......... ....Speaking of bad, now is as good time as any to talk about the Panthers.....You can read my rant above about Bryce Young. I'm going to give you 2 more things that really pinpoints for me what is wrong with this team.......Xavier Leggette has been a disappointment, to put it mildly. In the 1st half when the score was still manageable, he has a 1st down catch into Jax territory. Only it is ruled incomplete because he didn't get both feet in. He let his toe land OOB. It wasn't like he was being pushed. It wasn't like he was being crowded. It was like he had to contort his body. It wasn't like he was walking the tightrope. It was a simple post to the sideline. And he didn't make sure he got both feet in. That was a play any professional pass catcher should be able to make with ease with zero problem. He just didn't do it.........2nd half, down 20-3. Jaycee Horn makes a fantastic one handed INT. Highlight reel stuff. And as he jumps up & celebrates, he motions for the defense to follow him to the end zone & mug for the crowds & cameras.....Down 17 pts & only 17 minutes to play. Really??? And I add that to Bryce Young's brain farts to say this:This roster needs to grow up. Plain and simple. And I blame Coach Canales for it. At some point, if you are allowing it, you're coaching it. Those plays are immature plays. They don't looked like they realize this is their livelihood. This is their JOB. This is their means of living. This is not a pickup game at the company picnic. This is the company. Focus! You gotta act like you are auditioning for your next paycheck each time you come into the facility or the stadium. You should be aware of what the situation is, what time it is, where the situation is. And act accordingly. If I was a HC and Horn did what he did in front of me, I'd do everything I could to fine him his game check. If you want to come to the sidelines & try to pump up your teammates after what you did, I'm all for it. But if you want to find the nearest camera & holler "LOOK AT ME!" when everyone in your uniform is getting their butt kicked, I don't need your cancer in my locker room. Coach Canales needs to change the atmosphere in Charlotte quick. He is now on the clock. We are going to see what kind of coach he is in the next few weeks............. .......I understand why people are calling the Steelers win a "get back" game for Aaron Rodgers. But don't you think it was a "get back" game for Justin Fields? Ask yourself, who after yesterday looks like they have the best QB situation going forward? The team w/the ready to retire guy, or the one that has a 26 yr old? I think Pittsburgh would be the one with the most regret..... ...Back to the Ravens & Bills.....why does the media seem to think Ray Lewis, Ed Reed & Terrell Suggs are still in Baltimore? The Ravens defense, especially in the 4th quarter & been, realistically poor, mediocre at best for multiple seasons now. Again, dropping 11, they still allowed Buffalo to get in position for a FG to end the 1st half. They have been blowing leads left & right.....At the same time, while not a great thing, I don't believe Buffalo's D is as bad as they looked. They gave up a ton on the ground. But that was to one of the best RB's to ever play, and maybe the best over 30 in NFL history. I mean, no one 21 has that size & that speed. And Derrick Henry is 31. Add to that, the best combination thrower/runner in NFL history. Lamar is the NFL's version of Shohei Ohtani. I like the Bills D's chances to look better in December than Baltimore............. ......Did we learn anything about the Cowboys & the Eagles in the 1st game? 1st half, looked like either great offense or bad defense. 2nd half looked like bad offense or great defense............ ....I'm going to be mighty confused if the Texans ever play the Falcons. Like, what's the difference?.........

Fan who hit Hopkins & Jackson banned from NFL stadiums
I'm really mad Lamar's comments afterward made it seem like he did something wrong.

George Kittle will be out for weeks w/a hammy. Purdy is also questionable next Sunday.

One day, someone is going to have to explain to me why people were so hype on JJ McCarthy when he'd never thrown a ball in the NFL.

Stupid fan. What Lamar did was a natural reaction. He got popped in the head a bit harder than the first guy.
Justin Fields surprised me. That's the best game I've seen him play. He may have had better. I haven't seen it. Some of these young first round QB picks continue to struggle. How bad does Caleb Williams look. Maybe he'll turn it around, but as of right now, if you take away his first read, he panics. The Vikings didn't look that good overall. Fans are results driven. Quarterbacks don't play defense. Remember when people were calling Arrowhead stadium Burrowhead? Burrow is not better than Mahomes. But win a few games and all of the details are forgotten. |

Reports are ex-Panthers LB Thomas Davis' ex wife went to his mistress' job and pimp slapped her. Below is the mug shot.
Something about that pic tells me gives zero *bleeps*

Just like if I ever went with a married woman. Don't focus on me. You have issues regardless of me. Same rules apply if my wife cheats on me. Why am I getting mad at the guy? He doesn't know me. Why should he care? |
