FHM10 New/loading game stuck at 79% copying files

Everytime I start a new game or load an old game on FHM 10, it gets stuck at 79% copying files, and won't finish loading. I have uninstalled the game, cleared the cache, verified the cache, uninstalled Steam, etc, and it continues to get stuck at 79%, copying files. Any fix to this other than what I have already tried?

Have you tried just waiting for it? Sometimes it appears to be 'stuck' but it's still in fact loading/compiling things under the hood.

I'd say that around 90% of posts that mention this issue are resolved that way - if you leave it for an inordinate amount of time and it never progresses past 79% then I'd suspect there is an issue, though any data related issue would be resolved with a reinstall.

Ok thanks. I will give that a try. I have to step away for a couple of hours so I will see when I come back if it's finished or not, though I'm not happy with needing it to wait this long to load when I haven't had that issue before, but I'll give that a try to weed things out.

Just re-reading your initial post - is this for creating a new game specifically or for loading a previous save?

If it's for loading a previous save, there could be an issue with corrupted data (this would not get resolved with a reinstall - that would require a couple of other steps to try and restore corrupted data which we can clarify if this is the case).

However, if it's for starting a new game, then my original advice should still apply.

It is for both. Since I last posted, I have gotten up to 91%.

It's odd because if it's not related to the loading of a specific save, there is nothing inherent about the data with FHM10 that would cause this that I have experienced. If it's happening with a particular save game, feel free to upload the '. Lg' file and I will try to open it and see what happens for me.

I reinstalled the game last week to port a save for someone and it worked absolutely fine.

Short of that, I'm running out of ideas outside of hardware questions - are you running it on an SSD? Again though, that shouldn't cause creation of a new game to take hours, if that's what I'm understanding from your second response.

The one I am trying to start right now is a brand new game, and I have a SSD. I have not played it since May/June, but I haven't done anything different on my computer. Sorry for the confusion. I stopped it at 94%. Got tired of waiting.

I have closed out the new game after awhile, and I then I can see it my saved file. When I open it, I am Ryan Huska on the Flames, every time.

When I try opening a saved game from before, it takes a long time to try and load, and then I get an error message. Right now an old saved file is on 35% loading players and it's stuck there. Sorry for the confusion.

Is there a way to delete everything after I do the uninstall, before reinstalling, including all saved files, rosters, logo packs etc and just do a complete install from scratch with nothing saved?

I was able to fix it. I deleted all of my FHM 10 files and folders saved everywhere on my computer, uninstalled, and reinstalled the game. There was nothing in the load file. Created a new game in less than a minute. I'm rockin' and rollin' now. Thanks for your help!
