So, at the end of the day here, the Las Vegas White Tigers are 51-31 and leading their division by 9 games, the Las Vegas Golden Lions are 50-32 and leading their division by 5 games, while the Las Vegas Black Panthers are 52-30 and in third place by 2 1/2. Go figure.
I did yesterday on the White Tigers replace Lofton with Inciarte then almost immediately Inciarte with Blackmon, and Blackmon won the last PoW award and has the second highest OPS on the team after Machado, so that's working out so far. We're first in runs, second in average, and 4th in home runs, pitching has gotten better although Syndergaard is still pretty inconsistent. A little disappointed that A.J. Minter, my closer, hasn't shown up in the all star voting updates, though he's got to be close, he's leading the entire league in saves going 22 for 22 in opportunities and has a 1.82 ERA (5th among relievers in the conference) and a 1.04 WHIP. For the Black Panthers if Ernie Banks gets a bit hot later in the season he could make a run at the triple crown, right now he's first in HRs, 2nd in RBIs, and 7th in average. Could be a MVP candidate regardless. Collin McHugh still has the best ERA, third best WAR, and second best WHIP among starting pitchers in the conference, certainly wouldn't have predicted him in what looks like a 3-way Cy Young race with Sale and Halladay. Minter is my closer here too, and he's 22 for 23 in save opportunities with a 1.78 ERA. For the Golden Lions, Tatis is running away with the voting for 2B all-star, while Rizzo is in the mix for 1B. Seems a little odd that my 9-2, 3.45 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 7.9 K/9, 1.7 WAR Eduardo Rodriguez is on the list for starting pitcher but my 7-4, 2.25 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, 7.6 K/9, 2.7 WAR Luis Severino isn't, although I didn't get Severino until a few weeks into the season so he doesn't have quite as many starts. He's played enough to qualify for the leaderboards though, he's second in the league in ERA, first place is another pitcher of mine, Luiz Gohara, who's 6-0 with a 2.22 ERA. EDIT: worth noting that the White Tigers are a money team in Silver and the other 2 are F2P teams in Iron. Last edited by Warhawk; 04-04-2019 at 09:52 AM. |

My team of silver and bronze players(and two golds that were from starter pack and free gold pack) that are high contact and gap with a focus on defense are leading there division in bronze league by 5 games with a 51-29 record. Leading the way is bronze 69 Wes Parker, who after 3 months so far is hitting .410!!
I thought I was going to get pumpled looking at the teams at the start of the season, but I have built a really good team as a f2p player. |

It's all about shoring up the D behind Walter Johnson to create frick tons of PP. He walks almost nobody and whiffs nearly 12 per game. But my team is bleeding him for singles. If I can shore up the infield defense really well, I can maximize PP generation. Even getting him to 13 K/9 would be a major leap. Whiffing 10+ in a game is 80 PP. Whiffing 15+ is *800 PP*. And I have more groundballers than just him. I just need to further improve my defense (9th in my league in defensive efficiency).

B'sin'Glou is 43-51... and only 1 win out of top spot in the division. Unbelievable!

Is the Silver Achievement (400 PP) for being the most popular All-Star a new achievement or did I just never get it in OOTP19?

I built my current team, the Raccoons, to hit a lot of HRs and score a lot of runs in contrast to my PT 1 team, the Clippers. But I still had never had a blowout before until now. We defeated a team 14-2 and their entire bullpen was tired or exhausted after that (they used 10 pitchers in a 9 inning game). We then won 25-3 and got a 3k PP achievement from that (plus other smaller ones) which is the most I've ever gotten in a game. They again used 10 pitchers and by this time their entire bullpen was exhausted. We then won 9-4 and have 1 game left against a mostly exhausted bullpen (plus all 5 of their SPs are tired).
So we've outscored them 48-9 in 3 games and their pitching isn't even that bad. In fact, I didn't even have my best lineup (offensively) in there for those games, since I was training some guys to play other positions so they could be used as subs. I used this extra PP from this one game to bid on someone and at the last moment, I upped the bid to 4500 PP only to find out that a second or two before that, someone else had bid 4500 and won the bid. Ugh! p.s. - Didn't blowouts used to be worth more? Just curious, not complaining.

I'm currently at 52-47 in Bronze level and in a fight to stay ahead in the wildcard battle. I downgraded my infield defense in favor of more offensive punch with new additions SS Jose Reyes, 2B Willie Randolph and 3B Pepper Martin. The run support is more important than high level defense in my current situation.

No, it's people who sort by Time end asc and put their final top bid in at the last second......like me when I happen to be around. When I am not around, I make my best offer and if I get outbid at the last second it's because they valued the card more than I and they beat my top price. edit: To further elaborate, in this and on ebay, last second bids do not always work as my last second bid may very well not beat somebody elses top max bid. That's happened many times. Last edited by mcdog512; 04-04-2019 at 07:38 PM. |

But in this case, I would have won if I'd have bid a second or two earlier (I hit next page and then back right before hand which is how I know this). So by waiting to the last moment, it cost me. So it's more like a sniper was sniped.

How about me who watches a player and waits to bid at the last second only to completely forget to bid and seeing the player go for a bargain price.

Ouch! I've not done that yet, but came very close one time (though in that case it didn't go for a bargain price so it wouldn't have hurt as much).

So Syndergaard started the season for me allowing 31 earned runs in 39 1/3 innings, a 7.09 ERA over that span. He allowed at least 5 earned runs in 4 of 7 starts. Since then, he has allowed 5 earned runs in a start once in 23 outings, allowing 34 earned runs in 107 innings, a 2.86 ERA. His worst game early in the season was allowing 7 earned runs against the #1 team in our conference in 2 1/3 innings. In his second start against them, first game after the all-star break, he gave up 1 earned run in 6 innings of work. Quite a turnaround after an awful start.

The Frogs have leapt out to a 7.5 game lead in their division with a 62-44 record. The only ugly spot in an otherwise stellar stretch of baseball was a 6-game losing streak wrapped around the All-Star Break.
The brightest spot of the month was certainly Patrick Corbin's 99-pitch no hitter on July 2nd. Corbin gets the 1500 PP for the no no, plus 400 more for the Maddux. And then a sprinkling of PP for having 10 K's in that game. Not too shabby. Aaron Judge continues to rebound from a very weird start to the season. Judge has now cleared the fence 21 times. He ranks 3rd in the conference with 79 RBI, and first with 6.2 WAR. Adding Fred Newman and Miles Mikolas to the starting staff has given the team a more well-rounded feel. Both were acquired at a pretty good auction value, 650 PP and 775 PP respectively. My pack luck has been cooling off--no players above silver lately (and why is live Russell Martin even a silver? lol). We'll see what this team has left the rest of the way. |
