Tactics and other questions
To any experience player or community manager who would be happy to spend some time helping.
I have picked up this game coming over from online Ehm and have been going through an interesting period of adjustment. I am having a tough time figuring out if what I have been doing is actualy working and had a handful questions as it relates to player role and tactical systems. Do certain player roles synergies with each other in unique ways. For example having a winger set to Screener with a C set to Perimeter Shooter would just be more effective than Screener with a Sniper or is it entirely based on the individual players and I will need to just try everything to find out what works best. Adding onto this question are their certain roles that are just better for certain strategies than others. FHM has a ton better tactics system but I miss watching my little dots run around. My second question is one for overall team tactics. Are you better having a global tactic for the team and then tweaking it for each line or creating a optimal system for each line. My third question is related to signing players. Is there a system in the contract negotiation that would tell the player you are wanting to sign them longterm. I always find that when I negotiate (I likely am not doing something right) for any length of time the player ends up getting fed up and refusing to talk. My fourth question relates to the starting database, I noticed that players tend to all develop in a very similar manner. Vilardi in one save will look very similar to Vilardi in another for example. What I am asking is a players end development (not predetermined) already kinda determined or does Vilardi have a chance to become a star in some saves and a complete bust in others. My fifth question is when building a team, are there team styles that are just not playable in fhm. I know in ehm it does not matter how much you work at it you wont ever get a defencive team to work. Is it similar in FHM were you will have one or two strategies that prove dominant and all others are pushed out? Sorry for the long post, my final question is related to prospects and player replacement in the league. What I mean by this is the bane of online EHM for the longest time was that the db created by the community overstated most of the players. This coupled with the prospect development system in ehm creating uber one-dimensional players unless they were a superstar. as you can imagine this all lead to the league being populated with current nhlers and drafting outside the initial 2-3 prepopulated drafts being a art in frustration. Does FHM run into similar issues to this and how does FHM decides to maintain the skill of the league. As I worked for ages (and mitigated to a degree) trying to get prospects working in EHM this is a personal interest of mine and any explanation would be very much appreciated. Again sorry for the essay and a half. I am likely blind but I could not find a ton of info on the really detailed parts of this game. The manual was good but I tend to enjoy a super deep dive into strategy games like this. In any case any info you can send my way is hugely appreciated. TukTuk |

Slightly off topic, but wouldn't it make sense for the mods to create an offical tactical discussion thread and sticky it to the top of the forum.
