What's this I'm hearing about Syndergaard possibly going to the Yankees, Mets getting Realmuto from Miami in a three-way? No word that I can find on who the Yankees would give up . . .

The stupid thing is that Realmuto is not any old catcher, but Syndergaard certainly isn't just any old #2 starter either; he would in fact be #1 for many teams.

And why did they extend a contract to Travis d'Injured anyway when they want to swing big for a catcher. Any dime to Travis will end up on the DL anyway by May... always has, always will.

Depends on what else is in the deal for the Mets, but giving up Syndergaard for Realmuto does not seem like a good deal. Does not add up, one year of additional service time for Realmuto, a starter for a catcher...

Even with Syndergaard's injury history... and who tells me that Realmuto will continue to hit for a .825OPS...

I'd rather go after one of the free agents, or trade with Boston, heard they want to move one of their gazillion catchers...

I am a hesitant yes on this one. JT 27 years old a catcher who can hit, those guys are tough to find. With our history on flame-throwing pitchers.... they seem like they always have one foot heading to the operating table.
I certainly feel better about this one than the Cano debacle

Mets appeared to have a guy steal a ton of bases in Rookie League. We can't have that. Off he goes in a 3-prospect deal (!) to the Brewers for career nothing Keon Broxton.

Oh you know, we were too Uncle Scrooge to get A.J. Pollock, so let's get an injury-prone centerfielder that is useless even WHEN he is on the field …!

And because that move wasn't mind-numbing enough, they get J.D. Davis from the Astros, too!

Fun story, I first only saw the headline: "Mets trade for Broxton" and asked myself which team had Jonathan Broxton, the reliever, under contract. Turns out Jonathan is retired... did not even think about Keon Broxton.

Man, the guy is 29 and his only full season is a .220/.299/.420 with 20HR in Milwaukee... isn't their park better for power than Citi Field?
