Aging starters
Is there anyway to prevent aging starters from being used in the bullpen.
Guys like Verlander, Kershaw, etc. aren’t gonna just become relievers when they become less effective. |

You can try reducing the aging rate for pitchers.

But no way to set it like if a pitcher has x career innings, he is locked in as a starter?

Don't think this is out of the realm of possibility. See recent examples of Kerry Wood, Ryan Dempster, and John Smoltz who all moved to bullpens for a while later in careers - mostly due to recovery from injury. Don't believe there is a way to force this in game unless on your team and you can force their roll as a starter. May be able to force roles on other teams in Commissioner mode but I'm not sure.

Are you thinking it would be better if they retired instead of going to the bullpen? Or keep starting despite losing stuff, movement, etc.

Yeah you can name a few.... but look at the recent HOF pitchers: maddux, randy, glavine, etc. they didnt just become relievers.
It’s really not that common at all for a guy who’s been a starter for a long time at a high level to finish his career as a reliever |
