Live Updates Questions for Online League

My league is almost halfway done with our first season using OOTP and we're really enjoying the game. Right now we're playing OOTP 19 but plan on moving to OOTP 20 for next season. With that in mind, I have some questions about the live update.

Per a few comments by the developers our plan is to update to the newer version of OOTP at the end of each season (mainly to avoid bugs and update hassles).

Our league plays using the current season (we're in 2019 now).

Question 1, if we update to OOTP 20 at the end of the year, will we be able to update to 2020 live stats during the 2020 season using OOTP 20?

Question 2, I've read that the game only updates player ratings. what does this mean for fielding? Does it only update the base fielding ratings (range, arm, error, etc.) or does it also modify experience at positions as well?

No fielding is updated at all. We simply don't get data for that.

The live update in this version will really only work with the 2019 season as well. We may change this down the road, but live updating 2020 and later has complications for how we handle the data.

If guys want to have ratings updated during the season we'll have to switch to OOTP 21 at launch and live with the bugs and patches.

Follow up question.

We have a fictional league with real players and real teams. Will we be able to use the live update with OOTP 21 with the league year 2020 players?

FYI, I tried a test league in OOTP 20. I don't see the live update button.
