Goalscoring specific player

Hey guys.
I was wondering if anybody has a tip or suggestion on how to get your star player to be the main goalscorer?
I play with the Maple Leafs - and I just can't see, to get Auston Matthews to score regularly?

A goalscorer-type tactical role for him (e.g. Sniper) and, if possible, combine him with players with good passing and offensive read skills in playmaker-type roles on his line.

Hmm... I have tried this now in 10-15 games - and now he does'nt score at all... Kinda annoying for the game experience...

Well, it's no guarantee that he's going to score, just that he's going to get more scoring opportunities. Players will still run hot and cold when it comes to converting on them.

I had Laine get only 6 goals through nearly 30 games and he finished with over 50 without me changing a thing. So hot and cold is right lol.

Okay then. Maybe I will try again and see. Anyway that you could share your tactic, so I can see how you play - to get some inspiration
