In Search Of The Perfect Ballpark Backgrounds
For those of you enjoying baseball simulations, as important as the game itself, is the background photo of the ballpark. We all have our preferences so I thought I would share mine and then begin posting the images that I use.
To begin, I prefer a straight ahead photo from behind home plate as opposed to angled. I prefer day photo to night and strive to have images where both foul poles are in sight. I prefer color to black and white although I will settle on black and white if it is from behind home plate and includes many of my other preferences. I like the photos where the players are on the field, man at bat, as opposed to images without anyone on the field, especially when they are airbrushed off. That said, I would not want players on the field where they appeared in bunchs around a batting cage etc. I also like to have ample room behind the catcher so that there is room to place his baseball card. Baseball Cards. They are what I enjoy most and look beautiful when placed on a really nice ballpark background. This thread will include photos that I use, some near perfect in my eyes whereas others are far from it. It will be obvious that certain photos are only used because nothing better can be found. If anyone wishes to add a better photo, by all means do so. In the following posts there will be real park photos, computer generated and video game representations. Parks that have been renamed a time or two, I will only be posting them under one name. Here come the ballparks... Last edited by okcochise; 10-29-2011 at 04:42 PM. |
