the rosters look great, I didn't notice anything outrageous for my team (the Orioles). all of the offseason dealing looked pretty normal too - the Yankees signed like 5 big name free agents, the Athletics made about 10 trades (all of them favorable to Oakland).... the latter I'm sure was just a coincidence seeing as you probably didn't code Billy Beane into this roster set
whoops I just noticed something - Evan Longoria is listed as a terrible fielding first baseman (8's across the board in all the infield fielding stats). also you should probably lower all of Chad Bradford's ratings against LHB, he is definitely the most skewed right-handed specialist in all of baseball. edit: indians reliever Scott Lewis is listed as playing >1000 innings at DH under his fielding stats Last edited by ugen64; 11-28-2008 at 05:04 PM. |

Question about coaches. How do you plan on doing them? Are you just going to change names or are you going to change there ratings? If you are changing there ratings where are you going to get your info from.

I kind of do it a bit arbitrarily, there's no "system" per say, but I know quite a bit about the coaches around the league/their background/etc. so I tend to base a lot of it off that and reputation. Not a rock solid system, but better than just going with whatever the game defaults as it IMO. |

Are you going to be able to fix all the changed minor league affiliates? It seems to me that a lot of teams are changing their farm systems around this year.

Yep. Going to just re-name the original team to the new one instead of flopping them all around. Should be pretty easy.
Also going through and updating all of the minor league players "pro service years" which look to be a bit off affecting potential Rule 5 status. |

Not to nitpick, but one thing I've noticed about your rosters(Maybe it's just the OOTP rosters), not just this one, is that none of the Canadian players are labeled as such. Jeff Francis, Rich Harden, Ryan Dempster, Justin Morneau, Joey Votto, Eric Gagne, Eric Bedard, etc....All of them are listed as Americans.
Otherwise, this is fantastic. Thanks a million! Last edited by killericon; 11-29-2008 at 04:01 AM. |

As always I go deep down in the system and question about this GHOST player Bill Regilio.
That dude has the same picture as Nick Regilio and of course Bill Regilio has never been alive so I can´t get how you can put him into San Antonio in Double-A. Nick Regilio has even doubled himself as one retired and one No Team. Get Bill Regilio OUT of OOTP9, he doesn´t exist..... I can´t find anything on Baseball-Reference.com - Major League Baseball Statistics and History or Minor League Baseball: Home so I guess I´m correct. Whenever I have time I will pop up some Regilios |

Clamel,
Your posts are very trite and non-helpful. Please help CubbyFan out by posting the list he requested (and with which you were inquiring) instead of these infant tirades. Please make this process as smooth as possible. |

Many thanks to Cubbyfan for his great roster file.^^
I have use it simulating three seasons and find some flaws that need to improve. ^^ll First of all, most salary attribution prices are unreasonable. Took Shin-Soo Choo for example, in this roster file, he only has one good preformance in 2008 but his first salary attribution price exceed 9M. It doesn't make sense. Secondly, most players who overall ability reach 3 stars in FA market quote 10M at least no matter how old are they or whether they are already on declination or not. Compared with 2008 roster file which you made, 2008 roster file is better in this part than that of 2009. Thirdly, no matter what team I select, I always encounter one strange problem. The problem is that I will lose 3/4 games in one month(I lost nearly 15 games in one month and this month is either May or August). In addtion, continous losing games' cause is that bullpen is alfame.(relief pitchers are incapable of stopping opponents' attack. = =) I try to buy superstar relief pitchers and employ great pitching coach, but I am unable to overcome this fatal problem so that I am extremely frustrated. ;>_<; Does anyone face the same situation? Hope somebody teach me how to get over the third problem.= = Anyway, this roster file is pretty good and hope Cubbyfan polish it. Lastly, many thanks to Cubbyfan again.^^ |

Hey Cubbyfan, another thing I noticed was that when you search for a real life coach it says that they are already the coach of their real team but when you go to that team and look at their coaching staff the coaches are different. Ex.) Search Bob Melvin and it says that he is the manager for the D-backs but when you go to the D-backs and click on "Scouting & Personnel" it says that somebody else is the manager. However, not all teams are like this, only some of the real managers are on the game like this. Like Joe Torre doesn't say that he is the manager for the dodgers when you search for him.

The start date is in 1-1-09 not like 12-1-08.
To many people DFA/Waviers so MLB Rosters aren't up to date. Yes I knew that but somebody asked that Trades from this Offseason are missing so would Free-Agent signed so far to. Mike Fontenot plays 2B not SS. There are Leagues out there that have Real Coaches but not as of Today and one of Cubbyfans did have some of the real Coaches.
