Try setting the subleague pool count to 1 instead of 3. (No guarantees that'll do it, but it might suffice.) |

Fishbreath -- First, I appreciate the tool! It has been great, and I appreciate the flexibility it gives us to create custom schedules to match what we are looking for.
What I am looking for is this: I want a college baseball-type schedule that gives me games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and then weekday games on Tuesday and/or Wednesday. Using the settings.ini file, I have the days set as follows: ; These options enable week-aware scheduling. ; start_day_of_week defines the first day of ; week in the schedule. ; No games will be scheduled on off_days_of_week. ; No random break days will be placed on non_off_days_of_week. start_day_of_week=Friday off_days_of_week=List:Monday|Thursday ;non_off_days_of_week=List:Friday|Saturday|Sunday| Tuesday|Wednesday Within the saved game, I have the season starting on Friday in mid-February (see attachment). I am able to get the proper starting point, but what I usually end up getting is a 3-game series Friday-Sunday, a 2-game series T-W, and then a 2-game series over the weekend followed by 3-game series midweek for the rest of the season. I'm not sure what I am missing and why I can't get a consistent F/Sa/Su/Tu/W schedule. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

Insomniac, do you have your ini file handy? I can take a look at it and see if there's anything I can turn up. I don't recall if the week-aware scheduler is smart enough to try to fit series into the appropriately-sized slots in a given week, so that may be the problem.

How do I go about scheduling more off-days? I have sort of a funky league, 100 teams, 5 divisions of 10 teams each in 2 subleagues. I don't really care about them playing 3-game series at a time against other teams, so series length is 1 game each sort of like the NBA (but 162 total games). Only issue is teams only get 1 off day a month, which leads to faster fatigue.
I've tried adding more days to this section: "; This many days of break/padding will be added ; over the course of the series. break_days=__" As well as adding every non-weekend day to the off-day-of-the-week list, but doing this has actually resulted in even less break days being scheduled per month lol. Anyway around this? Thanks. This schedule generator has been money for the most part, aside from this little issue. |

I've given up on using this generator for the off days; I just schedule it as break_days=0 and manually add the off days with a mass find-and-replace.

You'll need regex experience, so it's not an option for the newbies.

A 2 subleagues,3 divisions of 6 teams each
Hello guys, a NOOB to ootp here.
I'd like to make a schedule of SL1D1T6D2T6D3T6SL2D1T6D2T6D3T6 by this tool, each team plays 80 divisional games(20 series of 4 games, 4 series VS. each opponents), 72 subleague games(24 series of 3 games, 2 series VS. each opponents) and 36 subleague games(12 series of 3 games, 2 series VS. each opponents in one division). I set the 'settings.ini' like this: Code:
[schedule] ; Scheduling options. The scheduling engine will ; create a schedule with exactly this many games, ; or inform you what to change to create a valid ; schedule. ; This many divisional games. divisional_games=80 ; This many subleague games. subleague_games=72 ; This many interleague/interdivisional games. interleague_games=36 ; If set to true, the scheduling engine will attempt ; to set up interdivisional pools between divisions ; of the same size. match_divisions=false ; If set to true, the scheduling engine will attempt ; to set up interleague pools between subleagues ; of the same size. ;match_subleagues=false match_subleagues_by_division=true [divisional-series] ; Series scheduling options. ; The preferred length for series. preferred_length=4 ; In each division (or subleague, or all teams, ; for the two following sections), teams will ; be divided into this many pools. pool_count=1 [subleague-series] preferred_length=3 pool_count=1 [interleague-series] preferred_length=3 pool_count=3 Code:
Generating opponent pools... Divisional pool: [T5, T1, T4, T2, T6, T3] Divisional pool: [T10, T8, T9, T12, T11, T7] Divisional pool: [T16, T13, T18, T17, T15, T14] Divisional pool: [T22, T20, T24, T19, T23, T21] Divisional pool: [T26, T28, T27, T30, T29, T25] Divisional pool: [T35, T34, T32, T31, T33, T36] Subleague pool: [T4, T1, T2, T3, T5, T6, T9, T12, T7, T11, T10, T8, T13, T17, T14, T15, T16, T18] Subleague pool: [T23, T22, T19, T24, T21, T20, T26, T28, T30, T27, T25, T29, T31, T33, T34, T36, T35, T32] Interleague pool: [T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T25, T26, T27, T28, T29, T30] Interleague pool: [T7, T8, T9, T10, T11, T12, T19, T20, T21, T22, T23, T24] Interleague pool: [T13, T14, T15, T16, T17, T18, T31, T32, T33, T34, T35, T36] However a matchups of one team like this: Code:
T1 schedule debug 188 games 94H/94A Divisional 80 games 40H/40A T6 16 games 8H/8A T3 16 games 8H/8A T2 16 games 8H/8A T4 16 games 8H/8A T5 16 games 8H/8A Subleague 72 games 36H/36A T12 9 games 6H/3A T7 9 games 3H/6A T11 9 games 6H/3A T10 9 games 3H/6A T8 9 games 6H/3A T18 9 games 3H/6A T16 6 games 3H/3A T15 6 games 3H/3A T9 6 games 3H/3A Interleague 36 games 18H/18A T25 6 games 3H/3A T26 6 games 3H/3A T27 6 games 3H/3A T28 6 games 3H/3A T29 6 games 3H/3A T30 6 games 3H/3A And I found some subleague games of several teams contain the match between two teams in the same division. Does anybody have an idea? Anyway, the tool is really wonderful |

I can't seem to get the run.bat file working in Windows after unzipping the file. Any specific recommendations on what I might be doing wrong?

Yes I do. I have OOTPScheduleGenerator.jar properly marked as having Windows open it with the Java Platform instead of WinRar was well. However, when I double-click on run.bat, all I get is the command screen for about a tenth of a second before it closes out.
EDIT: Actually I fixed it - looks to have been an issue with Java itself. I was updating some things on my laptop anyway so I updated Java, deleted the Schedule Generator, and simply unpacked the .rar file I had for it again, and it appears to be working fine now. Sorry to bother everyone! Last edited by tm1681; 05-31-2020 at 11:11 AM. |

That one worked. I see now why the original post didn't, it's got the wrong link but I didn't see another anywhere in the thread before I asked. Glad to sort that out

I'm trying to arrange a schedule with 30 teams spread across 3 divisions, 10 teams in each one. No matter what I do, it doesn't schedule a series against everybody, and when creating a pool for interdivision games, it ends up having teams from the same division getting extra games against each other. I've tried to change the number of games for division and non-division opponents, tried changing the size of the pools, but I can't for the life of me figure out what to do. Maybe it's just not possible then?

Hi, I'm having a problem with the off_days_of_week property. I'm attempting to set up an NFL-like baseball league, with games only being played on sunday. It keeps setting games for 16 days straight, no off days, despite me having set the no-games days as mon-sat. My settings.ini is attached
edit - i somehow got it working. I think I had to remove Sunday from non_off_days_of_week. If that wasn't it, then I have no clue how I got it working. Also had to adjust the match_divisions to false.
