Interested in Season Play Only with Current Players

I'm interested in playing only the current season with current rosters and schedule. I don't want trades, minors, development, free agents, etc.. I want to have the real rosters from the start of the season, set lineups, rotations and play one team while simming the rest. Is this possible and is anyone doing such a thing with OOTP. I don't want to be the GM and I don't want the AI making rosters moves for any team, including mine.

Start a Standard game. Set yourself as GM for every team. That way AI can't make any moves. Make yourself human manager of your team. Without minors you will have no replacements for injured players.

Instead of starting as GM for every team, you can turn off trading and delete all free agents.

If there are no minors, teams will automatically have reserve rosters. To accommodate injuries, you could assign minor leaguers who came up during the season to those rosters.

So, it sounds like this is very much doable. I would want all rotations and lineups set up to last the entire year and then manage games. I wouldn't even want injuries. Can you turn those off?

How does this game perform, in your opinion, as a straight sim? I'm coming from a Strat-O-Matic perspective.

I had a feeling that might be your background. It is mine as well.
And while this isn't how I play, from what I've seen I'm sure you will find the game very solid using it for a straight sim.

But I feel compelled to say that this is sort of like buying a Ferrari just to drive it to the grocery store and back every week.
OOPT is so much more than this.
Hey, I'm hesitant to post this as I totally subscribe to the "it's your game, play it your way" philosophy.
But every time I see one of these posts that seem to be looking to use OOTP as a substitute for S-O-M, or Replay, or whatever more traditional baseball sim the poster prefers, I feel a little sad.
Do what you want, but I really want to encourage you to someday try to meet OOTP in all of its glory, on its terms, and I think you will be blown away and addicted forever. It is a whole 'nother game, an immersive baseball reality that satisfies on levels S-O-M could never even hope to.

I understand your point, but I have no interest in fictional trades, free agent signings or drafts. I want current players playing the current schedule on their real teams.
