Extensions
I'm playing in the Swedish SHL and having problems getting my players to negotiate extensions. Almost half my squad are on 1-year contract, and immediately when I sit down, they're saying "I'm not interested in further negotiation." and have an angr mood. The first time I tried was in September, he came back after a week, and so I delayed the rest of negotiations to December; now the other two have said no with the same idea. Any tips?

Are you getting that message the very first time you attempt to negotiate an extension with them, or after having one or more offers refused? If it's the former, that shouldn't be happening. If it's the latter, you may be trying to negotiate their price down too far. The unwillingness to negotiate will eventually reset, roughly every 3-4 months if I remember correctly, letting you begin negotiations again.

First time, no opportunity to even send an offer. I eventually got to sign some of the weaker players, and one of them came back saying "I would like to play the market as a free agent", which at least made a little more sense.

That definitely doesn't sound right. Could you upload the save and we'll have a look at it? Instructions here.

Uploaded. The league is called SHL Vimes.zip.
Some test players for this case would be Morten Madsen and Daniel Gunnarsson of Karlskrona. |

Mine seems to be doing the same thing... I also have players asking to resume negotiations but when I click renew they are not interested. It also happens first time I try for a lot of players.
Do you want me to upload my save file too or has there been a fix?

We think we've got it fixed. It'll be in the next update.

Awesome, thank you.
I presume the update will only affect new games and not existing ones?

I just tried it with his save and the two players he mentioned, and they still refuse. That may be, however, because he'd already attempted to sign them and the "broken negotiations" flag was set. Every other player on his roster I checked were willing to re-sign (except one who gave the "want to test the market" answer, but that's a valid response.) So most likely it'll end the problem in existing games, just not for any player who's already responded with a refusal. Those guys should reset the refusal after 3-4 months, though, so as long as there's enough time left in the season you might be able to get them.

Okay, I haven't been able to give any of my players with this issue a contract offer so hopefully there shouldn't be any broken down negotiations.
I'll await the update and see what happens. Thanks for the quick responses
