Overagers in CHL

Playing as a NHL expansion team and there are a few 20 yr olds in the CHL that i want to sign to bring them in my AHL as 20 yr olds however it says i cant sign them because I don't own their rights. so do i have to wait until they turn 21 before i sign them? I thought u could sign 20 yr olds as UFAs out of CHLs

Undrafted CHLers can only be signed before the CHL seasons start.

I always get the "XXXX is too old!" even when I know by WHL rules they have at least one more year of eligibility.

It looks like some players aren't being made signable as they should be when they're passed over in the draft. We'll see what's going wrong there. For now, if you select "Signable" in the filter, it'll show you which players can be signed.

In my experience it's mostly affected human controlled teams, I haven't seen any of the CPU teams lose any good 20-year-olds, but all of mine are gone each season. Makes filling out a WHL roster difficult because bantam picks can't be signed right away.
