The Difficult Second Season/Pitching Glitch?

New to the game and currently super addicted to it!

I started a "fantasy draft" game in 2013 with current ML players. I took my New York Mets to the NLCS but lost. Now I was all ready to compete the next year.

However, my pitching has been awful. I don't mean Blue Jays bad, but I mean more hits allowed than innings pitched. I have some aces too, Darvish last season had a 2.62 ERA with a WHIP of 1.12, 150 hits over 224 innings. This season 20 innings, ERA of 8, WHIP of 1.75, 23 hits.

All of my pitchers have similar numbers (Darvish has been the best one) Gonzalez, Nova, Hellickson, have all been serving up some awful pitches to everyone. I tried to make a trade to see if I could improve it that way, but I realised that other teams in the league were experiencing the same issue.

Is there a slider I could adjust, or could it be my Pitching Coach? (his ratings are all excellent or above)

Thanks for your help guys!

Can we see the FIP and ERA of each of your pitchers, along with the ZR of each of your starting defensive players? And your team's defensive efficiency rank in the National League? More than often it's defense, not pitching.

20 innings (Darvish)? Too small a sample size. Real-life example: Jon Lester is a notoriously slow starter, but turns it around as the weather warms...except last year, but let's not go there.

If nobody at all can pitch (meaning, league ERA is something like 6.00), then I'd check your league modifiers in case something got off.

Otherwise, give it another month or two. They should turn it around.

An update, you were all correct. Just all started very, very slowly. Gonzalez didn't even pick it up at all, but at least it cost him some $ in arbitration!

Thanks for your replies guys, much appreciated.
