Minor league DL forcing player to 40 man roster

I have the AI running my minor leagues. A catcher on my AAA team was put on the 60 day DL, he was not on the 40 man roster at the time. He is now ready to come off the DL, but for some reason it says I have to activate him before I can move him to AAA. I don't want him on my 40 man roster. Why is it forcing me to put him on the 40 man roster first?

Ok, guess I had to designate him for assignment first, then move to AAA. Seems kind of pointless to have to do that but oh well.

So, you had to DFA him, but you didn't have to put him on the 40 man, and the AI didn't automatically put him on? That answers a question that was asked in another thread last week.

The problem all stems from the AI wanting to put a player with a long-term disability onto a long-term disabled list but not having a long-term minor league disabled list to use. So it reverts to using the major league 60-day DL, which is obviously less than desirable.

Two potential cures for this:

(1) Add a 60-day DL for the minor leagues (which exists in the real world); or

(2) Make the AI understand that, for the minor leagues, it can leave a player with a long-term disability on the 7-day minor league DL if needed. It won't materially affect how the club operates.

I double checked, he is not on my 40 man so the AI did not automatically put him on there when I moved him to DFA.

I also had this problem and it drove me nuts!!!

When I start OOTP 11 if it is not already an option I'll be adding 60 Day DL for minor leagues. I can't tell you how many times this has confused me.
