“Save as” feature

Hello all,

I like to save a season before I start a new one since I like to see the process, so I was looking for “save as” in the setting menu but I could not find it.

Any way to save the current season as a new file?

Ps: sorry for my English.

Make a copy of your .lg folder and tuck it away some place safe, like another HD or a memory stick.

The Backup function is essentially a way to do this.

If I use the backup function every day, am I protected?

What is the difference between "Save Game" and "Backups".

I know "Save Game" takes much, much longer than "Backups".

I suspect "Save Game" is copying the entire league over, while 'Backups" is just adding the current day to the what's already been stored.

rename them and save again. or copy through game or in explorer -- same ends.

one note about backup -- it is incremental in nature to save you time. so, if you rename a backup directory, make sure to use "full backup" [sic] check box when creating the new backup after renaming old one.

when i'd do this, i just appended the year completed etc... e.g. mlb-2019.lg or something similar... keeps it organized.

that should only pertain to a backup fucntion.. .saving to a new directory will be full and complete each time.

perfectly safe to leave in ootp directory as long as you don't purposely delete the directory or somethign like that... no worries about the game deleting something wihtout being specifically told to do so. it can't accidentally happen unles you cause it.

I think you have that backwards?

Save Game only saves what happened since you opened the game.

Backups take longer than saves and can take a long time depending on the option you choose.

The in game backups are nice, but your best bet for backups is to always save a copy of your .lg folder in another location.

Thanks for the correction.

Yes, I do a backup at the end of each season to an external hard drive.
