Best time to add DH

I love the NL in real life but want to add DH in my sim only league and am curious when I should make the change.

Should I do it the first day after the World Series? How about the first day of Free Agency or even January 1st?

I don't have any real experience, but my gut feeling is to do it as soon as the offseason begins, if you want teams to be able to build their rosters with the DH in mind. I'm not sure how good the AI is in this regard.

If, however, you kind of want to throw everyone to the wolves, then I would do it in the preseason, since that's when most league changes usually take place.

Interesting, I never even considered pre-season.

Right after the World series ends is when i would make the change to give the AI managers enough time to make the necessary changes.

I always implement rule changes/expansions during winter meetings since I figure that is when GMs and owners meet and such things would formally be voted upon.

Expansions are a bit different in that regard because they're voted on years in advance, but as the real-life expansion drafts tend to be held around winter meetings time, there's no real problem with doing it that way in-game.
