Tuesday is through and things look like this...
Red Bandits 28-24 .5GB Pulled a 93 Jimmie Foxx out of a tournament pack! Watermelon Bandits 30-24 6GB King Felix not pitching so hot. Pink Bandits 39-14 0GB Ellis Kinder is 7-0 with 1.80 ERA

So after the 21-1 start for the White Tigers was followed by a 6-8 stretch, we're back on the horse going 14-2 since then, to finish the day at 41-11, which is only good for the third best record in the league. We're first or second in every category in the conference except stolen bases and defensive efficiency. None of our players has particularly stood out, we've just been good all around, highest starter ERA is 3.50. Started the season with 98 OVR Tom Gordon (125 stu 86 mov 83 con) as closer, who had 10 saves in 13 attempts with a 2.14 ERA, then pulled a 96 OVR Lindy McDaniel (107 stu 88 mov 93 con) and decided to give him a chance at closing, so far he's 3 for 3 in save opportunities with 0 runs allowed and a FIP of 1.46. I'm also using Wainwright, Strasburg, and Syndergaard as relievers and they've allowed 6 earned runs in 46.2 innings.
Sun Kings are 34-20 with a 5 game cushion in Stone .153. Marquez and Darvish have been great - 8-3 / 3.02 and 6-3 / 2.85, respectively - but not so much Kluber, who is 2-6. Closer Paul Shuey is 11/11 in save opportunities and has allowed 1 earned run in 22.1 innings for a 0.40 ERA (although he has 2 losses, there were a couple unearned runs in there too). Despite that he's not even in the top 5 in the initial all star voting for relievers, behind a bunch of guys who seem to have much worse numbers. The only names on the list for us are Arenado, who's leading at third base, and Lorenzo Cain, who is third at center field, which is weird because he's sporting an OPS+ of 100 right on the nose, but on review it doesn't look like the league has very many good hitting center fielders. Black Knights are 28-27, 2.5 games back in the wild card. Finished a few missions so hopefully that might give us a boost. Again good work from the closer here, Osuna is leading the all star voting and has a 2.01 ERA with 13 saves. |

Thought I was doing well collecting Lives, then tallied everything up and realised I'm not within 60 cards of any division

All teams still going well.
On my main team I'm around 45 cards short of filling the live collections, but they are spread over multiple teams/divisions. Added Longoria, Lowell and Rosen (all 3b) to my pool of players. The side effect of having a ton of bronze/iron live cards is that its easy to put teams in tournaments, been winning a few packs and 200PP tournies

I just pulled a 93 OVR Peak Johnny Pesky. He's got 106 at SS, 95+ in all the infield ratings, 84 contact. Had been using an 85 Al Dark, who was the lowest OVR guy on my roster. Good for a gold card, but this is a big upgrade.

Sold a couple duplicate live diamonds, ripped 5 packs, ended up with a perfect J R Richard, which is neat since it's the one perfect card I won in a tournament in OOTP 20. 138 stuff, 85 movement, 53 control. Kind of a slightly worse version of the Nolan Ryan perfect, with 2 less stuff and 9 less control, and slightly different pitches.

All of my teams are playing .500 ball, give or take a few games here and there, and they're producing a very small amount of PP.
Bought 1 pack for my Marathoners with my 1206 points and got a 98 Matt Kilroy. So wanted to keep him but had to put him on the AH. He would have teamed up real well with 100 Scherzer, but there's just to many positions that need a serious upgrade. On a side note, the San Angelo Warbirds are 72-4. Macacks has put together one incredible team, I'm surprised they've actually lost a game to anyone in this league.

I've decided on a new, foolproof strategy to dominate. Whatever Froggy does, copy that. Genius!

Wednesday is through and although I did particularly well in tournaments, teams haven't improved much at all.
Red Bandits 47-32 0GB Jimmie Foxx is batting .349 and knocking them out. Watermelon Bandits 43-39 8GB Pink Bandits 58-23 0GB The barebones stamina on Ellis Kinder is not keeping him from avg 5+ innings a start.

I have two teams leading their division...
... ... ...in Rookie League. Ah, it will all be well once I pull that Big Walt Johnson again...

Lowdown Lugnuts (51-30) strategy was to build around 92 Frank Robinson that i got from the starter packs. He is doing ok (.295/.362/.503) but 79 rated paul O'Neill is having himself a year, a 21 games hit streak, hitting .346, .966 OPS, 4.2WAR, and even 18 steals, Mark Portugal is the staff ace with an 11-2 record, the bullpen barely gets the job done though and may prove to be this teams achilles heel in the long run
Pacheca Pack Rats (60-21) continue to be red hot, opening a few packs when i earn the points and selling off the live guys that don't make the team, i suspect it will be a while before we see any upgrades Paragon City Heroes (56-24) finished the National League Collections and are currently 2 teams (5 cards) short of the AL (Houston/White Sox). i'm keeping hold of all the SE cards for tournaments and possible future collections, so it's not a cheap endeavour

Warbirds were lucky enough to be finish collections before the inflation (everyone else getting on them and the 50 post limit). This gave them a good stable to start off with. The additional pulls of 100 Ozzie, 100 Musial, 99 Walter Johnson, 98 Yogi among others. We have refrained form chasing the Perfect cards on the AH and haven't really needed to yet. Also have been able to make some nice PP on AH. Warbirds have a good stable of cards for future collections as well as excellent tournament teams. Ghosts are a live only team that started off vey slowly after entry packs. Every Historical card was sold on AH and a base of Live cards were established. Then, the OOTP gods gave us 100 ECK in a tournament pack. He was sold and funded the LIVE Collections. Team, then division, then league all while selling the SE card along the way. This was completed yesterday and will have a lot of PP to work with once the high end SE cards sell. This morning with another set of tournament packs the ghost took on perfect Nolan Ryan !!! This should certainly fund the acquisition of the 100 Lives. This team has been performing very well in Live tourneys. Quote:
OVERALL the 3 teams are way ahead of schedule and says a lot about how success is related to having a plan...oh yeah and some luck... Biggest change this year...paitience and education on the AH.
