So there is no randomness in the margin of error for ratings? If he overestimates Stuff by 3 pts, will he overestimate control by 3 pts as well? Or will he overestimate Stuff by 3 pts on all pitchers he scouts?

Using 1-20, mainly because I got used to it while playing FM.

Thanks yabanci, makes sense and is quite practical. I think I'll have to switch and give it a try.

Is there a website that actually lists these ratings for players?

I use 2-8 on everything. Even coaches and scouts.

I use 1-10 for ratings and 2-8 for talent. Gives you a little ambiguity between the talent and the actual ratings plus the 1-10 scale doesn't give you too much info about a players talents but gives you just enough to know who has a chance at keeping up their performance.

Ever since EHM, I like 1-20 across the board.

1-10. Allows for some uncertianty but gives a good estimate. I've been toying with the idea of doing a talent only league. I doubt it though.

I only have the demo so far, but 1-10. It's more intuitive for me. BM uses 1-100 and it drives me nuts :X

Thanks for that. I've made a change to 2-8 because of that. One nice thing is this - the extremes stand out much better because if you see red or blue, that is an extreme, and there are very few of them, since it is just 2 or 8 ratings values. So they stand out quite a bit.

Something to try. I think it's easier visually, too. Here's a link that gives an example:

I like 2 to 8 for fantasy players, but since I've gone back to playing with historical real guys (50s) I prefer 1 to 5.

1-10 because it keeps me somewhat in the world of the older versions.

Read here:

Netscape Search

Check out day 7.

Also, there is a problem with talent only leagues. (which I would like) You cannot search player attributes through the filter system without actual ratings on. I don't know if this is a bug or not, but it could be.

Thanks to Yabanci, I think I'll switch to 2-8 when playing ootp 9. Like Sitting Duck says, it's easier to read visually.
