It turns out that Jimmy Wood was a manager player for the Chicago White Stockings in 1871, so there are two versions of him in the 1871 historical start. Here he is pretty happy to have stopped his own hitting streak.

New single season HR record! I went after this guy when he came into the league, and we were in a tight negotiation battle with the Dodgers, and he finally became too expensive, but wow what could've been. Curse you Dodgers!

Encountering this jarringly slender-skulled Facegen generated sideshow oddity almost made me regret looking through the free agent pool. It just might be a coincidence, but it's almost eerie how the game seemingly detected how otherworldly this guy looks when it gave him the nickname "spaceman".

Interesting thing I hadn't seen before - Mike Trout missed most of the 2022 and 2023 seasons because of military service! I wonder who we were at war with.

This happened in one of my fictional leagues. This guy retires as a player, gets his first manager job two seasons later....leads the team to a 27-135 record....everyone gets fired and he vandalizes the clubhouse in anger. If my team's pitching rotation had 3 twenty game losers and a starting pitcher who went 0-24, I would get mad too.

Bad start is bad.......

No clue why the AI left him in. All his relievers were rested. Gave up 8 in the 2nd, 8 in the third.
