Question about missed seasons or retirement
Let's say I don't want players to miss seasons or retire according to history, but player development is off. I think I read in another thread that even with development off, if there are no stats to recalc with, the game will make do using player development for those players with no stats. Is that how it works? I want to have players not go off to war(Dimaggio) or retire young due to historical injury(Koufax), but I don't want to use the development engine for every player because then ratings change throughout the season.

I would love to know the answer to this as well. I even posted a question just like it on the main board.

I remember reading in the past that with development off, guys that retired in real life, would sometimes maintain their last ratings for several years. Are you saying this no longer happens and player development will kick in. Lets face it, using "retire according to real life" and "miss season" can deplete roster, big time.
