Historical Sim Results
Hey all, new to the forum...I hope I'm posting this in the right spot.
Anyways, I started a fictional historical sim in the year 1900 with 16 teams..full minors and feeder leagues. I'm up to 1935, and I've been comparing real stats to what I'm getting...it seems to match up so far...I'm noticing that strikeout numbers are pretty low. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of setup? Do I need to tweak any of the modifiers? Thanks! |

What do you see for strikeouts (K/AB) in the Historical Simulation Accuracy Report?

On the league statistics screen, you'll find a tab.

No need to apologize. Go to the MLB menu (Top Center). Then click on Statistics in the dropdown menu. It'll take you to this page.

if it is in the league settings, then I think I know what you're talking about....the modifier for strikeouts is 8226/1.560

there is no box for that on my screen for some reason....I'm using all fictional players and a fictional world...could that be the reason?

Oh, well there you go! My mistake. I didn't see the word fictional. (It's anathema to me. )

When you say strikeouts are low, do you mean league totals or individual totals?

No big thing, I'm pretty sure it's going to even itself out...there were guys with 200+k's in the early 1900's....lately, the league leader has been averaging about 150-160....I know there was a boom around the Kofax era.

I think it's pretty accurate then...I think I'm just seeing these low numbers and worrying for no reason.

Please feel free to post other comments or questions about the game. Learning the ins and outs of the game can be overwhelming.

Thank you guys for all of your help. This game is awesome, I had OOTP14...only really played with current rosters...this is my first venture into fictional leagues...so far it is fun to see how things play themselves out.
I think I'm going to do an MLB historical sim with fictional players mixed in and see how things go. |

pstrickert, how do you attach the real-life photos of players to the players themselves in the OOTP league?
I imagine I need to download real player photos from the internet, though there is probably a database available on this site somewhere, but then how I get the players in a given league to have the right photos? I see you have done it and it would be time consuming probably but also really nice to have their real faces. |
