Question
I have not played OOTP since probably 8 or 9 I guess. I would like to get back and get on an online league. I used to love it but only did an online league for a short time. My question is should I get started now buying 13 or wait for 14, which I assume is due out in March or April?

To answer your question about weather you should get it now for online leagues I would probably wait if that is the main reason you are getting it. Most online leagues will probably switch to the new version when that comes out but there are also online leagues that still play on the older versions. It really just depends on which online league you join. But for $20 its a great game and cheap entertainment especially for at least 3-4 months until the new one comes out. If you are not strapped for cash go ahead and buy 13 if you are go ahead and wait.

Thanks for the link and reply. My only other question is that I have a Macbook and would prefer to get it on Mac. Are there any differences in the versions as far as how well it works? I know this was originally PC only and sometimes when something comes to Mac it is not as good or compatible in all areas.

Some people have had some licensing issues with the Mac version and I don't think you get the real player names if the game is purchased through the iTunes store. But I don't know if that's the iOOTP or the full version. Otherwise I think the game is the same and runs smoothly. For more information, you can always search the forums for posts about the Mac version.

I have the Mac version on my MacBook Pro and have had no issues with it.

Mac version plays just like the pc version does. No difference other than the real team names. Blame that on apple not ootp. Once you get it, just give me or Bowtie a pm and we'll send you the fix for real team names.. Last edited by Bigrod; 01-07-2013 at 08:54 PM. |

You can get a TON of good play time in now before the next one comes down. Plus it's a little cheaper. You'll be able to decide if OOTP14 will be right for you. I'd pick it up in a heartbeat.

Ok thanks for all the replies. I think I will go ahead and get it now, but not from the Mac App store. Really antsy for the baseball season and feel like this will help. Guess I will be searching for a league soon
