OOTP16 to OOTP17 - Will full minors integrate in 1919?

Pretty new user here with a question for the veterans...

I started a historic franchise in 1909 with the Cubs using OOTP16. At this point there is no minor league affiliation. My question is, I have imported this franchise into OOTP17 but I'm wondering if when the minor league affiliates enter my universe in 1919 (?) will OOTP17 use the historically accurate minor leaguers that were added for this year's version?

If not, is there a way I can export my end-of-season data and start a new franchise in OOTP17 to make use of accurate minor leagues while preserving the stats and results from my 1909 season?

Historical minors won't work on an imported game. I tried that myself. To get them you'll need to create a new historical replay in 17.

Not the news I was hoping to hear, but thanks for the reply. Just to be sure we're talking about the same thing, your experience was with a franchise that was started and imported prior to the start of minor league affiliation, yes?

I ask because I know starting a historical franchise prior to 1919 does not include the "import real minor leagues" checkbox, but I would assume it will incorporate them once it reaches that year.

won't work. i've tried a couple of different ways with the same negative result. if you do add minors, they vanish at the end of each year and all the players become free agents. Basically, you can't have fictional (or self created) minors if you have historical minors checked. Maybe it'll change in future patches or versions, but for now, we're limited to historical minors and reserve players until 1919 and then it goes to 40 man roster. Sorry.

There is a checkbox for "import and maintain historical minors" or something like that under the historical tab in game settings. It only comes up if you also check "automatically expand league". As a test, I created a 1918 historical league, checked that box, and the Texas League imported in 1919. I feel reasonably sure that if you check that box in 1918, you'll get the minor leagues starting in 1919, IF you don't have minor leagues of your own and you're not playing with historical transactions, which really mess up the import. I even think that should be true if you converted the game from OOTP 16, but I haven't tested it.
