Creating a Player

Is there an option to create a player in the game and follow his career?

Yes, in commissioner mode you can create a player or edit an existing one.

Creating Batters from standard batting stats is straightforward.
But I find it difficult to impossible to create pitchers using stats.

I wish that you could just type in all of the stats from BaseBall Reference and get the correct pitcher for use in OOTP.

Why are you creating players from baseball ref? You can import historical players.

what thegame said, and if you still want to make a fictional pitcher from stats, i'd just go about them the other way.

pick out 2-3-4+ pitches etc. then, choose whether they are all equal or 1-or-2 are elevated while the others are 'something' else etc... whatever ratio you want.

add a rational movement and control relative to quality you are trying to make and then tweak from there... lower a couple pitches or make them worse against lefties etc.

you probably have a good idea of what certain ERA's are relative to ratings. convert to your normal scale in your head, if necessary. if you look in the editor and 'know' ERAs in your league are higher/lower than the editor ERA, you can assume the same for your intended creation. it won't be spot on, especially if different eras(time period, not abbr.).

Any update? i have thoughts if you are creating your own fictional players as my league is full of them. i edit stats in my EBL league every season and I get it mostly right based on years of stats i have for players from other games.
