our favorite time of the year has begun, MLB season is around the corner and we are in the final stages of development of the new OOTP. This year, it's already version number 24, can you believe it!

So, on March 24, we will launch Out of the Park Baseball 24! And if you pre-order now (saving 10%) you will get access to a beta version on March 21.

Looks like some substantial changes here! Haven't been super into OOTP lately, but this does look promising and I'll probably pick it up.

Are EVs and Launch Angles more than cosmetic? Will the averages be tracked on the stats screen? They're already in the game if you do a CSV or SQL dump of your league but they don't mean anything.

That said, this is the most hyped I've been for a new OOTP release. Can't wait!

Looks like the stadium views (Colorado) might be slightly out of focus. For example hard to read the Gasoline, Lemon Soda, etc., and the red signs next to the American Flag. Only reason I mention it is because I noticed same thing in 23 but the stadium views were sharper in 22, at least for me.

Anyway, will be buying and looking forward to the release.

I see nothing in the announcement about Japanese baseball. That's the main thing that determines whether or not I upgrade. Are attempts being made to get the league back in the game? Thanks.

Same here. I know it might be out of their hands to some degree, but without the *** this is gonna end up being one I skip. So I'm hopeful they got that sorted.

Edit, ah, that's right. I forgot the Japanese league is a bad word. Feel like that answers my question.

Yeah, continuing to censor the name hardly bodes well for OOTP's willingness to even address the issue, let alone their willingness to fix it. I'm happy for all the MLB-only people and the PT and fictional-league players that they got some neat little changes, but none of those could offset the loss of the second-best league in the world for me. Sucks to see world baseball fans get the short end of the stick. Feels like a wasted opportunity in a World Baseball Classic year.

I don't know why people expect lots of changes and post asking about the future of OOTP. It's a mature game. It should be after 24 versions. Yes there is stuff that isn't right but at this point most of that would fall into the categories of can't be fixed or don't want to fix.

The problems here are that some of the public expect huge changes when none are possible and the devs alleging huge changes when none are present.

I would be more excited if they were sending out press releases about the new Director of Franchise Mode they were hiring to inject resources and leadership into a mode that has become pretty stale over the last few years. Rather than the ones I’m seeing about the hire of a new Poobah of Games as a Service or Ziggurat of Live Service Games or Majordomo of Skinner Boxes or whatever his title is.
