Goldie Baseball Card Co.

In looking over my collection of Winnipeg Goldeyes baseball card sets, I felt that a few of them would lend themselves nicely to OOTP. So I decided to generate some baseball card templates based on them. I've done a couple of sets and when I have the time, I hope to make some more.

Since these cards were originally commissioned by the Goldeyes themselves, they aren't exactly fictional. But I did make a few adjustments to the layouts so as to make them more OOTP-friendly and added some simple graphics for awards and such. So I'm not sure how to characterize them. At any rate, I hope someone can find them useful.

For each set, I created xml files for default and all-star cards, as well as rookie, defense, pitcher and hitter award cards.

First up is the set they issued back in 2002:

2002 Goldie

There are xml files for default, all-star, hitter, pitcher, rookie and defense award cards:

Looks great! Will use them in my dynasty. For some reason the 2002 set reminds me of something Donruss would do. Did they make the cards? Not sure if they do team sets like that.

Yeah, they are very reminiscent of a Donruss set from the early 90's I believe, when they had the Diamond King inserts that were paintings of the players.

1982 Fleer had a similar same rounded box shape on the bottom of the cards as the 2002 Goldie's do.

I've wondered about that myself as well. But in looking through BMW's Template Guide, there doesn't appear to be a token available in OOTP to list the state/province of a player. Only [%PERSON_CITY_OF_BIRTH].

Edit: I just found a token called [%PERSON_CITY_DESCR] from fhomess' baseball card database that apparently allows the listing of both City and State. I just learned something!

I'm believe the team has them made locally.

Just a note to say that I updated the links to the 2002, 2014 & 2016 sets. In the more recent sets, I had begun to add stats for stolen bases and SLG, as well as hits allowed for pitchers. Now all the sets show the same information.
