Pretty good description. I think it would depend on which Joe shows up for the fight though. The one who dominates or the one who just does enough to get by.

* He has been a pro since 1993 and is getting up there in years. Normally, excellent fighters have one more great fight in them late in their careers. Kessler will make a more difficult opponent than Lacy was for sure.

I think Kessler will do much better against Calzaghe than most might believe. I think Calzaghe is made to order for Kessler. If you watch the Lacy fight and,well..if you want to call it a fight..the Manfredo match as well..you will see Calzaghe is very exposed when he throws his combinations. He has a bad habit of letting his hands drop alarmingly low,of course Calzaghe has forced me to eat crow when doubting him before(Lacy) but I think Kessler is the best SMW in the game right now. Kessler throws straight punches and has textbook lateral movement..the only weakness is what someone pointed out earlier..when moving back he is exposed at times. It would be a great fight for boxing and the division as well. With Froch,Bute,Pascal,Inkin etc...the division is chock full of prospects.

It sure is, I know the SMW division doesn't always get the respect but 168 is a pretty interesting weight. These guys are close to being big men but still small enough to be fast & you're right about the prospects. Really want to see what Bute, Froch & that Russian Oganov (26 KO's) do when they get their title shots!
