Free Agents and Draft Picks
I tried to offer a contract to a 4.1M x 3 yrs to a player asking for 4.8M x 3 yrs. The player said I wasn't even close when I asked for a response, yet a couple days later he signs a 2.2M x yrs for another franchise.
Why are we not allowed to actually offer contracts below what a player is asking while the AI is able to offer them? Also for some reason I am only able to trade draft picks that are 2 and 3 years away. I am in year 2022 in my league and I only have the option to trade away and trade for picks in 2024 and 2025. |

There is some variation on what a player is willing to accept from a team - he may opt to take less money if it's his favorite team, or he wants to play for a winner and the team is a championship contender, for example, although the difference between what you offered and what he accepted is unusually large. Was it another team in the same league, or somewhere else?
Strange about the draft picks, I haven't seen that before. We could have a look at the save and try to see what's going on there. |

I just started playing FHM and experienced the same problem with trading draft picks. I am playing an historical league starting in 79-80. I was able to trade 1980 draft picks during the season. Now that we are in 1980-1981, I can only trade 1982 and 1983 draft picks, but not 1981 picks.
