Have you got Zech in his prime yet, or is he still pre-prime?

I have him still in his Pre-Prime. I'd gone with fights 11-25 as pre prime. I was using some breakdown someone had suggested. Using that, Zech would move into his prime stage at the Robert Duquesne fight which is just before his title fight with Westphal.

Rocco, do you have this guy? Here's a game Euro heavy trialhorse who only fought for a short time, a slugger who went in winging and has a great name:
Sugar Silex of Portugal, 1975-78. He was 10-8-0 with 5 KOs. Didn't beat any big names. Lost to Felipe Rodriguez, Santiago Alberto Lovell, Lorenzo Zanon, Jose Urtain, Ramon Avenamar Peralta, Lucien Rodriguez and Gilberto Acuna, all among the better Euro and SoAmer heavies of that time.

Thanks for your commments Heavyweight. I'm new at this rating of fighters, so I'm learning as I go along. That's why to I watch this forum a lot in hope of learning more about from you guys who understand it better.

Bygraves was already in the game. I didn't rate him. I believe though I'd agree with you that it would seem he should be more then a 1. I'd be real interested to hear about that Zech vs Liston fight! That would make for great reading!

Thanks

Gerhard Zech's next opponent due up is Federico Friso from Italy, I'm going to go ahead and post the ratings I got thus far without having run the replay of the fight, because I'm not ready to do that, not being totally satisfied yet with Friso's ratings. I'm posting them in the hope other's might offer some suggestion(s) to better them. After 3000+ sims, I'm having 1 certain problem that I'm not sure of the solution.

Friso's record was 23W/28L/7D/15KO's. He was stopped only 1 time in his career. 26 decision losses he fought in. I've been running 2 sets of sims, 40 fights against 1 fighters and 18 against 2-5 rated fighters which looking at his record looks to be the general breakdown of his type of opponents.

I'm getting his W/L and his Ko's to come out pretty decent, but in sets of 58 fights, he's still averaging anywhere from 5-8 stoppages against him. My question for anyone is is 1-2 stoppages against him realistic to think I can get to replay for him and how can I tweek the ratings I got currently to maybe make that come out?

Here's what I got thus far.....

Interesting thing is if you do the AutoRate calculation it rates him as a 4 overall! I have to down grade it though to a 1 to get the W/L to work out though.

this is one of those situations that Jim wrote about in his article. He's getting rated a 4 probably because his chin vs. KD and KO are so good.

You need to probably raise his control factors...much higher than you'd expect to keep him in the fight. He won't land enough punches to win but he'll probably finish the fight.

If his starts winning too many after doing that...lower his punches landed numbers

Ok, CornerWork.com has all the fighters listed in this thread (WHEW!)..hope no one minds that I copied/pasted them there. Please also submit future fighter ratings to Cornerwork.com to help build our database!

Don't forget too that ANYONE can submit links to downloads or links to other sites. I dont have any other fansites listed yet and I know there are many out there...

JR,

I know I don't mind you posting the ratings over to CornerWork.com. I feel it's a great thing to get all these to a central point that everyone can easily see and access and add to!

Hey Rasmuth,

I'm still plugging away at it. Raising his CF's upwards of 9-10 and then lowering his punches does help. His stoppages go down to 1-3 per 58 fights. The problem I'm still having is his record coming out too good .500 plus.

Ok, here's some revised numbers for Friso. The last 10 sets of fights I simmed were by far the best, consitant set of results. Gernerally happy I guess with them. Anybody have any Ideas to tweek them maybe a little bit better just yell. The only thing that seems a bit off is his KO's. Averaged 10.6 that last set.

Rocco...try raising his conditioning rating to say a 4 or 5...then he will show up for some fights in less than stellar shape...and I'm not sure the recovery should be a zero...maybe a 2....when he does get knocked down...he probably should take a while to get back to 100% and maybe lower the Killer instinct...a 5 maybe...see if this might change things...

you might be able to raise his punches landed a little

just some thoughts...
