Will Association Playoffs get their own statline this year?

I think I have asked for this since the inception of Association to the game.

For those that are not aware, when you create Association playoffs in OOTP the game takes the Association playoffs games and counts them towards the home team's league playoff count, not the Association. A great example would be if you did a Global Cup between the Mexico, MLB, KBO, and ***, that the Dodgers could get playoff stats for the KBO, ***, and MLB. This could also mean that Kenley Jansen could end up with more than 12 saves in a post-season, say 14 for the Dodgers (when realistically, the max amount of saves a relief pitcher can get under MLB's current format is 12) instead of 10 MLB, 2 for KBO, 2 for ***. It could be eight for MLB and six for whatever acronym you provided the Global Cup.

I hope that association stat tracking gets an upgrade too!
And playoff history, not just champs!

so much of this. If you export a league and import it into another database, it screws up the Champions History (or it did, can't remember if that was fixed in a patch).

I agree that would be great but I think they've moved on from the Association feature.

Extremely disappointing if true.

Are there any need for Associations now with tournaments available?

Was thinking about this.....would love to create multiple American based leagues involved with promotion/relegation.....but have additional foreign leagues.....and all champions eligible for a world cup style tournament.

It's like you're in my head or something!

I just have not figured out a good plan for draft pool. Do I have a shared pool? Is that even possible with no Associations?

What is your plan?

Well, pending the final details of how it will work in '18...my plan is to have 4 levels of American leagues with the first 3 having separate draft pools. The lowest league will not have a draft and will have to just sign the free agent dregs. I figure one of the perks of coming up from that bottom league is to get some young quality talent at least for one year. If that doesn't work out I could always add a draft to that league later on.

I was really excited initially about the Association feature, but have never used it since its inception. I think that's why they haven't focused on it as much because that seems to be the general perception? Really is a shame cause it seems like a fantastic feature, but I just haven't even thought about it until now.

I originally thought Associations were a precursor to some kind of tournament mode/builder. However, now that we are getting ability to create tournaments independent of the Associations feature, it does seem, in its present state of neglect anyway, like a rather forlorn and redundant feature.

Markus suggested in his AMA that the Association should still be used for Champions League/Cup type setup, not tournaments.

We might see some improvement on this feature by OOTP22 then.
