Negro Leagues being added?

So, does this mean that one can import individual Negro League players - for example to make a custom all-time great team? I thought only MLB players could be included because of the database the import into the game comes from - and what would the tag be (MLB uses, more or less, the baseball-reference page name (i.e. troutmi01). Let me know because, if true, it would be a great addition to the game.

Yeah, you definitely will be able to import individual Negro League players (and minor league players as well, as I already commented on in a couple other places).

Will other historic "minor league" (non-MLB) players be import-able too? Like Sadaharu Oh of a given year? Sorry if I missed this in earlier posts - just got the OOTP 18 email and turning my attention to pre-ordering

Not Oh specifically since iirc he never played in the US minors, but yeah minor leaguers will be importable.

So bottom line - if you are in the seamheads.com Negro database - you are now importable. If you are a known historic figure but not part of a database the game uses, like Oh, you are not. I think I got it

Looks like a great addition to historical leagues. How will the signing of Negro League stars pre-1947 by MLB be handled? Could be a delicate balance for the AI, if you're able to sign Josh Gibson and Satchel Paige to your MLB team while the other teams still refuse to, it could provide you with a huge advantage. On the other hand, just being able to play the Negro Leagues by themselves is a cool feature.
