scheduling an All-Star game
maybe I am missing something, but the 1927 season of my Universal Baseball Association was the league's 25th anniversary. So I wanted to add a couple of fun pieces to the league: a Hall of Fame, which opened as planned with half a dozen personally chosen inductees, and a league All-Star game.
The 1927 season was played in OOTP 13, and I don't recall when I tried to add the ASG, but when the season started, it wasn't there. The 1928 season was played in OOTP 15, and again, I tried to add the ASG but it didn't stick. Heading into 1929, I was in the offseason (January), and I went to League Settings and checked both Hold All-Star Game and Automatically Schedule All-Star Game, then simmed ahead to the beginning of pre-season, and the two boxes were no longer checked. I checked them again, and even regenerated a new fictional schedule, and while the boxes are still checked, I don't see the All-Star game listed in the league events. Am I missing a step to ensure the ASG sticks? Or does it no longer show up in the list of league events? EDIT: just simmed ahead to the start of spring training and at that point the schedule editing options vanish, but still no All-Star game showed in the league events and I could find no All-Star break when looking at teams' schedules.

It is a pretty straight forward association, 16 teams, 8 each in two leagues. No playoffs except the best-of-seven Diamond King Championship between the two league pennant winners. Basically, JUST like the MLB of the early 20th century.

I just think I must be missing something or trying to do it at the wrong time, since this problem happened in both 13 AND 15.

day= is the number of days starting from season start day. <GAME day="108" time="2005" away="0" home="0" type="4" /> You'd have to renumber some of the day= so that you'd have days off before and after. Also, you'd have to add to the element line (always the second line in the schedule) allstar_game_day="108" (day= matches the day= in above) to the end just before the > Last edited by Bigrod; 04-27-2014 at 07:38 PM. |

I will make a note to check this come 1930....I am heading into June of 1929, so I can't alter the schedule now. I also assume your "force" edit above this post couldn't be done during the season either, so I will look at this option first in the offseason, and move to your more drastic measures if I need to. Thanks for the input though. At least I have a new possibility.
