Assuming he keeps it up, where would you rank him? Who does he compare to?

Just looking for some opinions. And sorry about so many threads, I'm addicted!

Francis Navarro is still only 27 (will be 28 for next season), and has had 5 darn good seasons in a row.

I'm aware that it's not a large enough sample size to be included in with the all-time greats, but assuming he stays consistent into his mid-late 30's, where would you rank this player?

Thanks!

As for some awards and achievements:

- 1x Hank Aaron Award winner
- 2x Hank Aaron Award winner runner-up (plus a 3rd place finish)
- Rookie-of-the-year Award winner
- 5x All-Star
- 5x batter of the month & 4x player of the week
- 5 5-hit games in the past 3 seasons

Jays history:

- Jays all-time leader in career batting average
- Jays all-time leader in career OBP
- 2nd all-time in career OPS
- 5th all-time in career slugging pct

Off the top of my head I think he is a very good player, but is not a great player. To me, he kind of reminds me of Harold Baines. Very good but not HOF material. Baines started to decline at about age 28-30 but played until he was 42. I would like to see how your player does in a couple of seasons.

Pretty good all time for a 2b. Obviously he still has half of his career remaining. He has been putting up Robbie Alomar prime numbers.

I like the Alomar comparison!

He won his 2nd Hank Aaron (AL) award today!

You know what would be awesome? If OOTP gave you a PECOTA comparitor on the player's details screen. A lot more details would have to be hammered out, obviously, but that would be cool.

To me his numbers look a lot like Chase Utley if he didn't play his career in an extreme hitter's park. 3-4 more seasons of all-star level play would put him in the hall and he would probably a top 10 all time 2B.

Put him in deadball and see how he does.

In OOTP14 there was something like that on the Compare Players screen. I haven't looked to see if it's in 15 yet.

If that guy keeps up that pace until he's 31-32 and has a normal decline, I'd put him in the Hall, personally.

Edit: How's his defense?

A second baseman that hits like an elite first baseman, and piles up 45 WAR by the age of 28, reminds you of Harold Baines?

That's one weird comp.

It's there. Thanks for this. I never knew about it.

Look at his production and games

It's a 2B Cal Ripken!

He is very similar to Robinson Cano today. Lefty hitting 2B who hits over 300 and 25 to 30 HR, that is exactly where Cano is right now, or at least how he was the last 5 or 6 years, Recent history, I would say a slighlty better offensive 2B than Ryne Sandberg, Craig Biggio and Jeff Kent. There have been some 2B that had a couple of great years, Grich comes to mind, but I cannot think of any other 2B that hit for power and average though, and being a lefty hitter makes it more unique.

Cano is actually a really good comparison as well.

Hoping he keeps up the level of play and stays healthy.

Edit: And of course after I post this Navarro is out 5 weeks with a fractured thumb!
