Either way, it's not realistic. When a coach states he wants more money, but then tells you he'd sign for his original contract demand, it throws reality out of balance. The personnel model should, IMO, should mimic the player model, where contract negotiations are typical.

For now I'm turning on commissioner mode and assigning coaches to my teams.

Good Idea with the commissoner thing. (at least for now )

I will do the same thing in off season since i like to do housekeeping stuff then.

coaches are definitely an odd bunch in this game. I've had a number of them come back and tell me they want more money after I offered exactly what they asked. I offered double what they asked, just to see what would happen; and they came back and said 'thanks but I received a better offer and have signed elsewhere'.

when I pulled them up to check their new team/salary, they had signed for LESS than their original request to me. (maybe I smell bad, or they think my city is a dump).
