I played my first OOTP 6 solo league in manager mode: medium difficulty, trading hard/favor prospects. I decided to sign with whatever team offered me the most money. I used real rosters, starting in 1990. I first signed with the Braves, who had a Horror for an owner, and was fired after the '91 season despite beating expectations (not finishing last). I then signed with the Yankees, who had a Very Patient owner (ha!) and offered me the most money. After that it was off to the races. The team has gotten steadily better, until this year I won 120 games. (My OOTP5 record was 127 as owner/manager.) Surprisingly, my market size has only been Good throughout, and my payroll has ranged from 4th to 8th out of 26 teams. I've made the playoffs 12 straight years & am pretty bored with this dynasty now.

I managed in a historical league starting in 1972. I was signed by the Oakland A's. I can't get a screenshot but heres my records.
1972- 99-63 Play-offs! 1973- 92-70 Play-offs! 1974- 95-67 Won WS! 1975- 103-59 Play-offs! 1976- 77-65 (Lost Reggie Jackson for the season in June) 1977- 88-74 1978- 90-72 Play-offs! 1979- 95-67 Play-offs! 1980- 86-76(lost Vida Blue for Career) 1981- 80-82 1982- 85-77 1983- 92-70 Won WS! 1984- 105-57 Won WS! 1985- 102-58 Play Offs! 1986- 100-63 Won WS! 1987- 80-82 1988- 53-99 No contract extension 1989- 79-83 (signed 1 yr with hou) this is still on going. It's been alot of fun. I've spent every year with Oakland.(until 89) Owner is really patient. I had a dominant team the first four years till Reggie Jackson, Catfish Hunter and Bobby Bonds all went down in 76. Bonds and Hunter both bolted as free agents after injury plagued seasons. My most consistent player has been Mike Schmidt. I got him in the first season after i dealt Ken Holtzman and Roy Campeneris for him. That was a steal. Camp went onto to play 2 AS Games and Holtzman ended up being a .500 pitcher. Schmidt has been a 5 time MVP, leading the AL in homers 8times, with 12 AS appearences. Losing Vida Blue really hurt my staff. I was able to build back up through free agency and the draft. I was happy to get Reggie Jackson a couple more world series before he retired. Mike "superjew" Epstein won 1 MVP but Jackson never won a single one even though he led the AL in homers twice. He did make the HOF and Epstein didn't. Neither did Blue. Oakland fired me after 2 bad yrs. Thats what i get for fielding an old team and dealing all my spects. Houston signed me for 1 yr Last edited by Astros33Resurrected; 06-03-2005 at 02:29 AM. |

i dont got a screen shot of it but awhile back i played in a historical league starting in 1903, i was a manager until the 1960s. I managed 5 of the 16 teams (Brooklyn, STL Cards, NY Giants, CHI Cubs, & DET Tigers), i had just won the WS in my last yr but then the game had some error & i had to close it & when i went to play the game again just about everything was gone, instead of player names it was stuff like " [] " , i was hella pissed when that happened lol

Re:
Year Two of my Yankees Franchise.
I started nicely but i messed up on my manager instead of making him 20, i made him -486... So i stopped after 11-3 and correctly made my guy. I hooked up with a gal named Harmony...Yea I broke up with her because i would rather have my daughters wear bras...no offense to anyone. So then I met a girl named Carla and we have been together ever since. I ended up 2nd in the AL East losing by .5 games to Baltimore. Who ended up losing in the World Series to Washington in 4...ouch. I made a super overhaul and signed some prospects and some big guys like Marquis (28 million, story later on the happennings), Willis and Soriano. I traded Marquis and his 28 million dollar contract for Pineiro. And my Yankees are 2nd in the AL East. My lineup looks something like Ichiro RF (Was on trading block, 3 5* prospects later) Nearing 2500 hits Winn LF (Acquired through Sheffield/Matsui trade) - Ibanez (" ") Rodriguez 3B Nearing 475 HR's/2100 Hits Durazo DH (Acquired through Waivers) Teixeira 1B (Teix for Giambi straight) Jeter SS Nearing 2100 Hits Utley 2B (For Womack straight) Williams CF Nearing 300 HR's - Palmeiro 1B (Free Agent, 2998 Hits) Torrealba C - Minor Leaguer C.C. Sabathia - Acquired through Matsui/Sheffield Penny - Free Agent Willis - Randy Johnson Trade, 3.5 gold stars Pineiro - For Marquis straight Germano - Minor Leagues Sean Henn - Minors Mariano Rivera CL - Well, Duh. Nearing 350 saves Minor Report Robinson Cano Chris Saenz 5* Catcher - Name will be later. More later... |

I was also forced to trade Posada who, for some reason, wanted a 20 mil extension and i traded him for Yadier Molina. I also love Torrealba's hot streak of .756 in the past 13 games with NO Hr's |

Brewers Manager
Just finished my first seasonas the 06 Brewers manager. Won 90 games and finished 3 games out of the wildcard, even though I lost Carlos Lee and Brady Clark to season ending injuries in mid July. Prince Fielder was ROY and Weeks hit 28 bombs. Hopefully the sophomore jinx doesn't strike!

I started a profile in 1901 and was fired after 1902. No one would hire me, so I had to start a new profile for 1903. I've managed the same team, San Diego, throughout my career. It was a 1 league setup, so I had to schedule playoffs untilI converted the league to a 2 league setup in 1921. Here's the champions file:
1905 World Series Winner Nashville, beat San Diego 4 to 1 1906 World Series Winner Nashville, beat San Diego 4 to 2 1907 World Series Winner Nashville, beat San Diego 4 to 2 1908 World Series Winner San Diego, beat Nashville 4 to 2 1909 World Series Winner San Diego, beat Minneapolis 4 to 3 1910 World Series Winner San Diego, beat Minneapolis 4 to 3 1911 World Series Winner San Diego, beat Minneapolis 4 to 1 1912 World Series Winner San Diego, beat Nashville 4 to 1 1913 World Series Winner San Diego, beat Nashville 4 to 1 1914 World Series Winner San Diego, beat Minneapolis 4 to 0 1915 World Series Winner San Diego, beat Nashville 4 to 0 1916 World Series Winner San Diego, beat Minneapolis 4 to 1 1917 World Series Winner San Diego, beat Nashville 4 to 0 1918 World Series Winner San Diego, beat Clearwater 4 to 2 1919 World Series Winner San Diego, beat Clearwater 4 to 2 1920 World Series Winner San Diego, beat Nashville 4 to 1 1921 World Championship Winner San Diego, beat Minneapolis 4 to 0 1922 World Championship Winner Miami, beat San Diego 4 to 3 1923 World Championship Winner San Diego, beat Camden 4 to 1 1924 World Championship Winner San Diego, beat Camden 4 to 0

This is my Angels dynasty I had going for a while. Started in San Fran and did good till Barry retired. Ended up with the Angels and managed 7 hall of famers and one guy was in the 500/500 club.

Norfolk Tigers
I'm playing in a league i created (English League).
For some reason I started myself on no team and therefore didn't have any say in the draft. I got myself hired one way or another (maybe i cheated, i can't remember) by the Norfolk Tigers. Looking at their roster, they seemed to be a pretty average team. I had one star starting pitcher, a very very good thirdbaseman, and a good left fielder and then a bunch of scrubs pretty much. I decided right away to scrap everything but my thirdbaseman (who was ranked the top third bagger in the league) and get prospects. Normally (in real life) this would take a good 4 or 5 years before you'd see any results on the field. I know this because i'm a diehard Brewers' fan. In our case, it's taken about 25 years, but we can't really count the selig years because they had no real interest in winning. ANYWAYS, as you might expect, i lost about 90 games in my first season. I've played 12 games of season 2 and i'm 5 - 7. Not really the start I was hoping for, but I know the team is much better this year. I know can offially say I have the nubmer one farm system in the league. Anyone with less than 2 star ratings in the potential column is walking on thin ice right now. they're dropping like flies. I guess my trade ratio is a bit unrealistic as it seems I'm always moving guys in and out in the minor league level. At the big league level i've tried to remain as consistant as possible. I've gone much younger though. I think my team's average age is about 25. no joke. I have to figure out how to post a screeshot..... Last edited by frogger6; 05-25-2007 at 04:05 AM. Reason: typos |
