Logo transparency?

How do you make the outside of a ring logo transparent? Is it a certain color like it was in older versions?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it.

When you create the image, make sure the canvas is 'trasparent' instead of 'white' (which is usually how it is defaulted)
