Piscotty refuses extension
I put in the values of Stephen Piscotty's brand new contract, and here's the answer that I got:
No thanks on that $8.2M, Stephen. I think I will just pay you $535K next year. Disclaimer: I am not complaining about his refusal. I am just reporting what the game did with the contract offer. |

It's the more logical answer. IRL Piscotty gave up too much. His right of course.

Yesterday's game shows why he signed the deal. If, on the 3rd time he was hit yesterday, the ball would have been slightly lower and hit his neck, or, slightly faster and hit his cheek, he would be exposed to a potential CEI. |

He did leave money on the table. However, he is a Stanford guy so maybe he is smart to get the sure thing now. I would prefer to have the guarantee of more money than I could ever spend over the promise of more money than I could ever spend. That CEI is indeed one baseball to the noggin away.
