The AI Should NEVER do This

I'm down 11 runs in a complete blow-out. I've already replaced my starters with the bench. No manager would make the call to sacrifice in this situation---It just does not happen.

This ain't college football in the 1980's.

The Sols manager saw that the Legends still have a 4.3% win probability and *just to be sure* tried to manufacture another run for the death knell.

A one-run strategy when way ahead is debatable. What bugs me is when AI teams take base-running chances when way behind, late in the game. AI decisions in specific game situations are an area in which the game can improve.

yeah, i don't think they do a good job in getting head coaches. their strategies are outlandish at times and rarely rated even fairly well it seems. i guess they don't last long, but those types are too easily hired, i think.

i'd trust someoen else if they've looked into it more, though. i don't look at it enough.

Instead of moaning, by the way, you should thank the manager for the free out. Your guys weren't able to get outs on their own, as it seems.

Not sure if related but I always had a problem with AI managers having the same strategy for all situations under its tendencies (Im sure the overall AI does things differently based on situations) in the future I would like to see some character here.

It happens on the ***, where they bunt no matter WHAT the situation. I was so incensed when the Tigers pulled it on the Swallows with a 10 run lead.

the AI does what you tell it to do.

you know, you could set the baserunning/sac hits etc to 0 in late games where you are way ahead/behind

A good rule of thumb is that you always want to be up by at least 3 Grand Slams, just to be safe.
