Trying to figure out why OOTP won't import my schedule

I think my file name and type line are set up correctly, but for some reason OOTP won't import this schedule. It says it doesn't match the league setup.

The League is set up as 1 subleague with 3 divisions, of 12, 13, and 7 teams. The schedule is balanced (everyone plays everyone 4 times). 124 games per team. That's all how it is in the game setup.

I'm fairly new at this, so I'm hoping an OOTP vet can take a look at the file and see if there's something that I'm missing. Thanks.

I gave it a try but I'm baffled. A couple of potential trouble spots:
  • You have the season starting on day 2. I believe schedules must start on day 1;
  • You may want to change the file and your game settings to non-balanced games. OOTP sometimes has trouble figuring out how a league with unbalanced divisions can have a balanced schedule, so just change the settings to unbalanced. It won't make a difference in the schedule itself - the "balanced schedule" box in the League Options page is only if you want the game to generate a schedule;
  • Check for typos, especially if there are any team numbers higher than 32;
  • I don't think this should be an issue, but you have tabs instead of spaces separating your fields;
  • Delete the _SL1_ from the file info line. Sometimes, the game gets a bit wonky when it's only dealing with a single sub-league. That really shouldn't make a difference, but I've had success when I omit the SL1 from the file info.
I hope this helps.

Thanks,

I tried switching balanced and unbalanced and it didn't make a difference. Even when I try to generate a fictional schedule as unbalanced I get an error telling me it cannot create an unbalanced schedule. Is there something messed up there?

Per your advice I changed the first game to day 1, but it didn't fix it. I was hoping to schedule other games that day, but if I have to, I can keep one actual schedule game that day.

As per the SL1, thing, I'd tried it both ways, that didn't work either . Mixing and matching won't work, will it (like have SL1 in the file name but not in the info line? I didn't try that, but I'm guessing it won't work.

Would the tabs matter? I feel like I'd get an XML error and not a "doesn't match league setup" error.

I'm going to keep trying, but I'm not 100% sure what else to change.

I don't know what to say. I couldn't make it work either. There must be a typo in there somewhere, or else the tabs are screwing everything up. If I think of something else, I'll let you know.

Thanks. I'll go through and remove all the tabs and see if that's it.

Perhaps try setting it as ILN_BGY_T32?

Thanks for all the help guys. I got it to work using a "back door" method. I had the game spit its random schedule out to a file, copied all my games into that file, and re-imported it. Worked like a charm.

Thanks for that update. That's a clever work-around.
