John Holman. 6'3" avg. weight 202 lbs. Based on film and news accounts. A tall rangy slugger built in much the same mould as James "Bonecrusher" Smith. Heavy-handed preferred fighting at long range though he could fight inside if necessary. Always looked in shape but tended to run out of gas in the 7th or 8th round. Best weapon was a long thunderous right most effective as opponent is coming in. Below average defence, relied on natural physical strength and toughness to survive. Could be lured into his opponent's style of fighting.

Alternative Rating
The following alternative rating was done a number of years ago by the Day Council.
Then again, why would any of us question the "official" rating???? |

The Holman image
Sorry, I neglected to attach the image. If you browse through my Total Eclipse of the Sonny thread, you'll note that Holman was a factor in the late 1950s...as he was in reality.
Personally, I think that the Day Council rating is more accurate and works better than the "official" rating in simulations...but what do I know? Guess I'm a rule breaker insofar as I generally post a boxer's rating along with his image and on occasion, challenge the party line. |

Sorry about all this...seems that I reposted the Day Council rating rather than the image.
