Red Lanning 1916
Here's a better quality photo of what had been the old Facepack shot of Lanning. This is from the Hartford Courant of 5/31/1918. It shows him with the Wesleyan University of Connecticut. Not as clear as the coat-and-tie photo cinemaodyssey posted, but not bad for an old newspaper photo and has the advantage of showing the baseball uniform.

Jeff Patterson 1995 - Missing?
Anyone have Jeff Patterson in a Yankee uniform? He was a 3-game major leaguer who pitched for the Yankees in September of 1995. Thanks, in advance, if you can help.

Eddie Samcoff 1951
I think Samcoff has only made appearances in minor league uniforms before now. This photo shows him with the Philadelphia A's. It's from the Sacramento (CA) Bee of March 5, 1951. Samcoff hailed from Sacramento.

Billy Klusman
Looking for any non-Old Judge image of Billy Klusman. I'm most interested in getting an image of him with Kansas City of the minor Western League in the 1890s, but at this point I'd take something decent of him with either of his MLB clubs - Boston (NL) 1888, STL (AA) 1890.
Thanks! |

Question for Metsperts...
Know that Mets fans here know their stuff as well as anyone, so asking tnis as an outsider ... Is this Ron Kanehl? If not, who?

1894 Kansas City Blues
Thanks to tnfoto for the image of Billy Klusman. I managed to find the team photo from where it was taken, and a ID key - several major leaguers, including one Hall of Famer in his 2nd year of pro ball. I've identified the MLers in case anyone is looking for any of them:
#2 - Tim Donahue #3 - Jim Manning #4 - Bill Niles #5 - Pete Daniels #6 - Sam Nicholl #7 - Tom Hernon #9 - Bill Klusman #10 - Joe "Iron Man" McGinnity #11 (bottom right) - George Ulrich #12 (bottom left) - George Darby |

1889 Athletics
This photo was posted on the SABR Digest today. It had been colorized via the MyHeritage website. Player names were not provided. The roster is at the following link. Have at it, if you want to identify the players.

Great shot too. Burright is one of the guys who's gone from "very few Topps shots as a Met" to "scads of them" in recent years. (He's wearing a Dodger uni in his lone Mets Topps card.) Greg Harts has followed the same weird path. Here's hoping that Vinegar Bend Mizell and Tom Sturdivant are the next to travel this collecting road. |

a generic "colorize photo" tab. Notice some players have two different colored socks, shirt colorings aren't uniform. I wonder how much the seller will get for this? |

Ray Shepardson 1924
Does anyone have anything better than the Facepack image posted below? I've come up empty in my searches.

Can't really present anything better, but can give you a fuller version of the same photo. This was the original image used by Marc Okkonen for his 2000 CUPS OF COFFEE book.

Very nice find. Makes sense to me. See the following webpage honoring him for his years of baseball service to the Mohawk Valley. It pinpoints his coaching in the Little Falls area during the 1940s. He's even shown in this photo with his catcher's mitt, which matches his playing position.
