Couple of New Questions
Hey everyone,
Just discovered this game and I'm hooked already. Took over the Moosehead's and although I'm finding it pretty user friendly so far, I have a couple of questions that I can't answer myself. 1. All the NHL drafted players (Dobson, PO Joseph, etc) are unavailable to trade for; when I click the action button it just says "Offer Contract." They're also not on the list of players in the trade screen. Does this change, as I'd really like them on my blue line 2. Do players ever change their mind reporting to you from NCAA etc? I have players like Alex Newhook who is drafted to me but won't report; does this ever change or should I give up hope? How about someone like Zadina, do they ever get sent down to my team? If I think of anymore I'll throw them in this thread, I just didn't want to spam the board. |

There are some issues with trading NHL-contracted players in junior, unfortunately, so it's not possible to do that right now. It's probably going to require some future adjustments to the way loaning players to non-farm teams work, which is going to be a fairly large undertaking.
The college guys won't change their mind, but Zadina still has the junior preference, so it is possible for the Wings to decide to send him back down. But if you still have Safina and Barinka, your import spots will already be full. |

Will they still send down Zadina if I have those two euros and give me the option to trade/drop one, or do I have to open a spot now for Zadina on the chance he’ll be released back to me? |

You'll have to open a spot first. Realistically, you should probably keep them, the chances of him coming down are low and Safin and Barinka are both NHL-caliber prospects.

Thanks so much for your help and advice, it’s appreciated. I have another question along a similar line: Planning for next season, how can I predict which 20s will return and who will go play pro: I have Safin, Morand, Durandeau, Flower, Chainey and some others all turning 20, will any return for their last year? I could guess in reality but I’m unsure of in the game. |

If they have an NHL contract, they're probably gone. The AI usually won't return an overager to junior. In that situation, I usually keep the best 3 unsigned guys.
