This works absolutely great!!

The only problem that I had is that in my fictional universe, I have a World Title (GCB), and three Regional Titles (EC, WC, CC). I only have a Heavy Weight division. When I run the program it does make the individual file for each of my titles, but on the "index page" it only lists one of them

Again, I am wonderfully impressed with this utility!!!!

My guess is either your database is corrupted, you have deleted fighters who have fought at some point or the game isn't exporting the csv for you correctly for some reason.

Before you do anything, though, I'm going to put that Fighter Number fix in and see if that works. Then I'll see about the titles.

Found my problem. It seems some of the board member created fighters I imported I selected import fight history for them as well. This created problems with missing fighters. Also very early in my career I realized I had 2 different Jake Lamotta's fighting and deleted one of them. I have pretty much cleaned everything up by deleting the necessary fights from my history and all seems to be working well.

thanks for all your help.

Oh good. I had feared that this would be a problem with a lot of people and thought of some ways to work around it at work today. But since you've found the problem it saves me some work.

Glad it's working better for everyone. Johnny, email me your CSV file to the email I listed above so I can take a look at it. I don't like how it's not outputing everything to the index file and want to see if it's a symptom of a bigger problem.

Can you configure your app to actually edit the fighter.dat?

No, the fighter.dat is encrypted (Most likely compressed in some way). There's no way I'm going to able to make a program that edits that file directly.

I uploaded version 1.2

http://www.irregardlessproductions.com/TBCBHistory.zip

Changes:
I added in some more formatting. The dates on month html files are bigger and I moved up the Title Histories on the index page. So now the Year By Year listing is side by side with Title Histories instead of the histories being listed after Year By Year

I changed it so the dates come up as words instead of numbers. 3/14/05 is now shown as March 14th, 2005

And I added in a choice of Font to use (New Times Roman, Courier or Verdana). Make sure you choose the font before you open the history.csv file (New Times Roman is the default font)

Let me know if any problems come up.

Just a quick question though. Would you guys prefer the title histories to go back to numbered dates (5/14/05) rather than worded (May 14th, 2005) so that they line up better, or do you prefer the worded dates?

Awesome program! Just tested it out and it's great. Gives me a reason to start setting the date properly. Reason being I turned up this from my random universe I loaded and did the history on

IBF Strawweight Title History

February 1st, 2004 - Miguel Barrera (2-0-0) UD10 Rodel Mayol (2-0-0)
February 1st, 2004 - Miguel Barrera (9-1-1) KO8 Joma Gamboa (14-5-3)
February 1st, 2004 - Miguel Barrera (9-1-0) D10 Joma Gamboa (14-5-2)
Willing to bet he was tired

For the record, I prefer worded for the dates.

Suggestion: Have an option to toggle what you want for the date. Everyone wins then

I hate numbered dates. I'm from England, where we go DD/MM/YY. However, most of the US and Canada do it MM/DD/YY, so when I see 4/3/99, it drives me nuts trying to figure out if it's March 4th or April 3rd

Bonedwarf, excellent idea about the dates. I'm also from England and I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who finds the dates confusing. It might be a good idea to stick it in the suggestions/wishlist.

Consider it done (just did it. )

And Johnny, I found out why it's only printing one division for just one Org. for you in your index file. Going to test out a fix now.

EDIT: The fix worked.

Version 1.3 uploaded now, same link as before.

http://www.irregardlessproductions.com/TBCBHistory.zip

Changes:

Fixed the bug where the Title History listing in the index.html file would
not display correctly if you ran one weight division.

Added in choice of date formats for the Title History HTML files.

And unless anything comes up, this will probably be it for awhile.

Thanks Been this side of the pond more than eight years now, and still get messed up with the dates. At least in England it's standard. Nobody seems to be able to make up their minds here. Especially food packagers. "Okay, so does 04/06 mean April 2006, or June 2004?"

Considering food can spoil quickly, o4/06 probably refers to April 6th.

A fine theory, except some packaged foods can have expiry dates that far off, and not knowing when the store got their stock in leaves you wondering.

Now go back to writing your program and leave us Brits to whine
