Market Size- Why is everything above 10 astronomical?

Just what it says in the title.

Market size goes from 1-20, yet anything above 10 is listed as "astronomical" and given the same, fully filled in blue bar.

Why is this? Is the difference between a 14 and a 12 the same as the difference between a 7 and a 5?

This is confusing to me...

I don' see the confusion. Your market size reaches astronomical, it may still grow, however by definition it's still "Astronomical".

I suppose they could come up with 20 different adjectives to describe all 20 points, but is it that big of a deal?

i'm not sure if i've seen one naturally rise above 10-12.. if above 10 at all..

i've 'seen' a 12, but at this point the memory may be missing information like i did it by hand, lol.

i think NYY or LAD may have been a 12 market size a few releases ago and before, if not still now?

i think of 11-20 like 201-255 for ratings... above and beyond the norm. unlike the 'super' ratings, they aren't really used in normal game play unless you assign it to a team during creation.

It is really a 1-10 scale with room to grow on the upper end. Most of your teams should fit on that part of the scale (really, most should be between 3 and 10). The way to look at it is where you want the budget to be compared to what league average should be for the financial settings you have. Here is the scale I use which is pretty close to what the game uses based on some experiments I've run.

17 - 2.5-2.69
16 - 2.35-2.49
15 - 2.2-2.34
14 - 2.06-2.19
13 - 1.9-2.05
12 - 1.75-1.89
11 - 1.6-1.74
10 - 1.45-1.59
09 - 1.30-1.44
08 - 1.15-1.29
07 - 1.0-1.14
06 - 0.85-0.99
05 - 0.7-0.84
04 - 0.55-0.69
03 - 0.4-0.54
02 - 0.25-0.39
01 - 0-0.24

So, if you want your team to have twice the budget of the league average...their market size should be 13.
