"Now hitting for Babe Ruth, Faye Throneberry."

Everything else aside, how does one keep this from happening in the game, ever? TY

Aha. That makes sense but I have not seen this box. It must be in camoflage. I'll have to get Clouseau!

You'll find it under "Strategies", then individual player strategies. Once you're on the strategy page (from line-ups screen see tab along top) drag and drop the player into the lower left box and you will see various options.

Thanks Bluenoser.

RonP I wasn't being deliberately cryptic, I was trying to work out how Marvelous Marv Throneberry's Mother got into the game at all.

Yeah I found out from wiki after I posted. Faye was born in 1931. Must have been a young PH.

Well, the league is in1954 right now. I didn't know about those single player strategies and they are v. important. Thanks again for that info.

I remember his 1959 baseball card. He hit a buck seventy nine in '58 and all 4 of his homers were against the White Sox according to the message on the back of the card. He's been on my hated opponents list ever since.

Faye could hit but he took a lot of ribbing because of his name. He'd have been better off if his name was, Sue.

Why didn't he just go by his first name, Maynard?

Maybe Ruth is getting pinch hit for cause in 1954 he is 59 years old! Maybe the guy could use a couple off days. Did he blow thru his money Rickey Henderson style

He was in suspended animation from late '20 to 1950. He's only 30 and he is the one who gave Thumper Ted the idea. Babe doesn't need money. Everywhere he goes people know who he is and they are more than willing to extend him credit or frame his check (ala RH). He was a bad motorscooter in this league for a year or two but now he's almost just another power-hitter. He does manage to get his every year. No embarrassing numbers. If you discount his two starts on the mound.
