Now I will give in gracefully in the months ahead to my wife's plea for an iPad.
Heh, heh.

I hope there is some consideration given to the Android, because mine is paranoid... (HH2G!)
Seriously, I'm happy there's going to be an OOTP app. Don't mean for this to turn into a "I'm a Mac. I'm a PC." or "Tastes great! Less Filling!" thread.

We will continue to have an eye on Android too. But with our limited resources iPhoneOS is the #1 choice at the moment.

We developed an iPhone app at our company, and it's still not approved for the Apple apps store for whatever reason. Android Market has no such restrictions. Just sayin'...

Now I know what Mac users feel like when all the cool stuff gets released on PC first...
I agree. Show us the screenshots!

I'm a PC user, but I love my iPhone/iPad ~ I won't switch to Mac completely because I'm too cheap to rebuy all my software and I like to mod my computer.

Yeah, I imagine that's disappointing for a lot of people, but I imagine thats simply the limitation of the platform. Honestly, do people think that a phone is supposed to be able to run a high-powered app like OOTP? I commend Markus for even offering a limited-functionality version because a lot of folks on the board have been pretty much openly hostile on the issue of porting to products like netbooks or Ipads, with those against it believing that the concept of running the game with such limited hardware was a ridiculous concept.
As it is, this is definitely a step in the right direction for that market. Amazing to think that OOTP is going to the i-phone, but Civilization V is being released without a Mac version. Last edited by conception; 04-29-2010 at 03:30 PM. |
