National Teams

As the GM/Head Coach of the Oshawa Generals, I was offered the role of GM/Coach of the French National Team. I accepted and the day is May 5th, 2019. The generals are in the OHL championship (I don’t know if that makes a difference on the game). Game 5 of the finals is tomorrow. However today in the game I have my first matchup for the French National team. I have a roster and lines set. I have no new messages in my news feed and no matter what options I select, the game will not let me progress forward. For all sim options it takes me to the message screen where you would normally see an urgent message like assigning a player a number or something along those lines. Except I have no messages. I even subscribed to the World Cup and World Championsip news feeds. I don’t know what I have to do to fix it

It should take you right into the game when you continue, assuming the roster is ready. What happens if you go to the Schedule screen for the World Championships (on the World menu, select World Championships, then open the menu again and select Schedule.) Is the button there giving you an option to play the game?

There is no option to continue and I have 20 skaters and 3 goalies which is the limit for the national teams. Lines are set. The schedule shows the matchups and date but no option to click to play the game. When I hit okay in the top corner to sim it, the game goes to my news/messages

Strange, assuming you're on the day of the game, at the very least it should give you a view/play option right on the schedule screen. Can you upload the save and I'll have a look and try to see what's going wrong? Uploading instructions are here.

In trying to upload it but it’s very confusing and says it can’t reach the screen after I click saved games on ootsuppirt page

If that's not working for you, it might be easier to just put it on a file sharing site like dropbox or mediafire and send me the link.

Got it, books like a couple of files got left out that I need to load the save - leagues.dat and players.dat.

OK, I have it loaded. It looks like it needs you to use the "Play Game" option rather than simming forward to the next day - it's basically treating the international tournament as an event like the draft, which requires participation. We should probably look at changing that, but for now, you can continue by hitting Play Game - that'll take you the France vs. USA pregame screen, then on to the preview if you hit continue. From there you can watch the game or just click on Sim Game to get a quick result without watching it.

I don’t see the option to just play the game in schedule or in my matchups listed in the manager tab. I know the pregame and playing the game option you are talking about. I have done it in a custom league I have but I don’t see it here

The one in the upper right (see screenshot below) - or are you not getting that in your game? It's there as soon as I load your save.
