Do you want the game, but can't get it? Why?

Do you want OOTPX but cannot get your own copy? Tell me why.

I put off buying it due to the lack of a free trial until I realized it would likely meet the expectations I have for it as all previous OOTP titles have. I just purchased mine today.

Nothing wrong with being cautious. I really like the new version.

No one has a moving story about how he needs a copy of the game, but is unable to get it for himself? No deserving soul wants to share his plight?

You'd deserve one, for all you've done for the community, but you've got the resources to take care of yourself.

Let's hear from someone who doesn't already have a copy. Someone who's been a member of the boards for a while, who's facing some kind of adversity. Maybe someone who's an owner in online leagues, and has been manually submitting his management instructions. A kid without a credit card, or someone who's broke, or a guy whose wife or parents won't let him buy the game. An eager baseball-loving gamer who's dying to sit down and play OOTP for two weeks straight.

However, when something is important to you, you can always find a way to get it.....

Yes, and I've just opened up a way.

Pretty nice of you!

Hope someone takes you up on the offer and becomes a star contributor to the OOTP universe!

I would not own it right now, being a kid without a credit card, had OOTP not been released around my birthday.

I don't own it. I've lost the first of my four leagues, and two, three, and four are all going to be down the tubes in the next four to six weeks...

Can't buy it because OOTP Developments won't let me have it without setting up a PayPal account...

I could buy it, I have the money, and have a credit card, but until someone cares about Mac users enough that we don't have to deal with PayPal spam, I won't buy it.

I just wanted to complain some more.

Satchel,

This is a very nice gesture, I commend you for doing such a charitable action.

Agreed! Very nice of him to offer a copy to someone who isn't as fortunate.

No way are you going to nuke Manhattan and then leave.

Sack it up.

(to anyone else reading this, this is tongue in cheek)

I have been forbidden to buy it until I can do it without a PayPal account. All the CCs are joint with the much better half, and she's already had to go through an identity theft fiasco that was traced back to a PayPal employee.

I have been holding off for OOTPX because I am going through a lot of marital issues. I moved out of the house and had to take on a rent payment that was unexpected. I was covered under my wifes insurance and just in case she files for divorce I started insurance at my work.

She did file for divorce recently and after about a month waiting for the divorce to be filed in the courts she said she wants to try again. Since we are just trying I am still staying at my rental and the costs have really weighed on my bank account.

I know that people are thinking that the cost is so small, but with the unknowns of maybe selling a house in this economy and other divorce related bills if it happens. I have been scared to pull the trigger on a game I love. This may be the first version I have to skip in a long time.

Been around since OOTP3. Loved the game for many years but wasn't too excited about the move to Sports Interactive so I skipped that year and haven't followed up since. Been playing 6.5 sporadically and a bit of Puresim lately. Also, my older XP machine has kept me from spending much on new computer games, as I'm uncertain how much longer it will last.

Now I just found out we are making a move with a new job and things will be tight again until we figure out new cost of living etc. So, OOTP has been on hold for a while now!

Right now, I simply do not have the money to buy the game. I have two leagues, one of which already switched to X, the other one will switch after the WS. I'm hoping the commisioner of the league that's already switched hasn't been too annoyed with me pm'ing him any time I need to make a roster move. I'm also hoping the commish of the league that's switching over after the season will be the same way.

Alright gents, I've given away four copies. That's the end of this project. My thanks to all who responded.
